Liked it a lot! Our room was clean, quiet and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, it exceeded all our expectations. The location is central, one advice: instead of Storgata street, choose alternative route to the centre if you go on foot we saw shady people there.Rom: 5/5
This hotel was a couple of stops away from the city centre by Tram. Rooms were a little small for 3 people but we're comfortable. However was adequate as we were out most of the time. Bathroom was a wet room and was on the small side. Breakfast was buffet style and was excellent with lots of choice. I loved the fruit salad. Recommended. Fremkommelighet til fots: Only 10 minutes walk to centre. Lots of restaurants in area. If not walk only 2 stops on Tram. Mat og drikke: Excellent buffet breakfast. Great variety and choice
Very good location, just 10 min walk to Oslo Central Station. Very good buffet breakfast. Room very renovated. Two windows that can be opened. Bathroom is small but not bad. Not fridge nor tea/coffee maker at the room. Paid Tea/Coffee machine at the lobby. Parking: The hotel does not have its own, but there is public parking very close. There are like 10 spaces on the street in front of the hotel and then a large covered one in the same block. 380kr/day, 80kr/hour. You can stop by the hotel door to unload luggage before parking.
Rom: 3/5
I stayed at Anker Hotel for 2 nights. The room was clean and cozy, and the location is great—less than a 10-minute walk to the city center. However, street noise was disturbing at night, and with the window closed, it got too hot since the air conditioner didn't work. Also, our room lacked a safe, refrigerator, and kettle, which I mistakenly assumed were included. Be sure to check the booking details if these are important to you. The breakfast was excellent with many options, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Small, basic rooms. No air conditioning, no kettle, no iron, no fridge in the room. Windows can be opened just a bit for security reason. At the same time very clean, safe and quiet hotel with fantastic breakfast. Just 2 tram stops from Oslo central station. The tram stop is right outside the hotel. The hotel has got outside and underground parkings for fees.
A very decent hotel, especially considering the price point. Service was proper and professional, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast is better than that of most hotels I've been to in my life. The hotel's location is decent. It is located just adjacent to the popular district of Grünerløkka and is only two tram stops away from Oslo's central station. The area between the central station and the hotel is a bit unpleasant with some sketchy people hanging around however this can easily be avoided and doesn't necessarily feel that unsafe. The rooms have no air-conditioning which can become rather uncomfortable if you have a room on the top floor as the sun heats it up significantly and the heat gets trapped easily. The bathroom was very small with fold-away shower doors to save space. If you book a small double room, please realise that these come with 140cm wide beds, which is extremely narrow and nearly impossible to comfortably sleep on with two people. As far as further facilities go, there are not many. There is no restaurant. The bar is very plain with few drink options and is expensive even for Norwegian standards. Rom: The smaller rooms are truly small. The beds are only 140cm wide which is very impractical for two people to sleep on at the same time. Rooms - on the top floor especially - can get quite hot as there is no air conditioning and heat gets trapped inside very easily. My room was in very good condition and looked and felt clean. The bathrooms are small though usable. The sink seemed to be a bit clogged. Aktiviteter i nærheten: The hotel is located adjacent to the district of Grünerløkka. It is also very well-accessible from the city center, being located only two tram stops away from the central station. Sikkerhet: The direct environment of the hotel feels very safe. The area between the hotel and the central station is not very pleasant, with sketchy figures hanging around and often a lot of police presence. This can, however, be easily avoided by just taking the tram through here instead or taking a different route. Fremkommelighet til fots: The hotel is located at a walking distance from both the city center and the district of Grünerløkka. Mat og drikke: I was especially impressed by the breakfast at this hotel. There was a very wide variety of foods and drinks which were all of very good quality. The dining area is quite large, though it can still get very busy during rush hour. I would advise avoiding rush hour if possible. There is a bar in the hotel which is not that special. There is a very limited offering of drinks and prices are quite high. There are no dinner options at the hotel.
Good hotel within walking distance from almost everything you’d want in Oslo. Rooms are basic but comfortable with great views over Oslo if you get a room on a high floor. Staff let the stay down when couldn’t find bookings on their system. Tried to pre order packed breakfast for an early departure however the staff member on reception at 5am knew nothing about it. There is ability to leave luggage in a locked room before check in or after you check out. However with enough confidence you can just waltz in and access the luggage room unchallenged. When in the luggage room you’re completely unsupervised so when leaving items in there, you are relying on the good nature of the other guests. However even knowing the above I would still stay here again.
Sorry for the long review, just stick with me. I'm not trying to be mean, I just have many years in customer service and hospitality and this place is not cutting it. Pros: proximity to everything, tram, food, drinks, bike rentals, and entertainment. Some of the front desk staff were helpful and nice. Some were not. The gorgeous and nice bartender Breakfast until 11 on the weekends Most of the room and bathroom was clean. Cons: I had to kill 5-6 spiders that lived in the LARGE amount of spiderwebs in the lights above our bed pictures included THERE IS NO A/C IN THE ROOMS, OR FANS. If you're here in or near the summer be prepared to wake up in the middle of the night dripping sweat. The windows only open a little obviously for suicide prevention, but I couldn't open it because there were also SPIDERS OUTSIDE OUR WINDOW. When we did the self check-in, we had to ask the front desk girl for our room number again because the screen didn't show it for very long, she was nice and told us our room but didn't tell us anything involving the hotel i.e. breakfast times, bar times, THEY DON'T HAVE LUNCH OR DINNER, where the elevators were, check out time, just all the basic stuff you would expect them to tell you. She went back to talking to her friend or whoever it was on the customer side of the counter, he didn't seem to be a customer. When we checked out the gentleman at the desk was very nice and much more helpful. DON'T YOU DARE TRY TO EAT OR BE IN THE BREAKFAST AREA AFTER THEY ARE "CLOSED" or they will act like the building is going to fall down on top of them. They don't use the area for meetings, lunch, or dinner, so I don't get why they want you out of there the second breakfast is over. They will pretty much try to clear the plates from you mid-bite. Also, if the bar area is full or loud, don't sit in the breakfast area for some privacy or the world will stop spinning according to how I was talked to. You have to pay for what should be free amenities: coffee in the lobby, shuffle board in the bar after buying drinks 150Kr for 30 mins also the shuffleboard, while fun, is worn out and no longer level. I had trouble getting WIFI on the higher floors. I had to go to the ground floor to get smooth internet. There is no conditioner, just some mystery body soap in the dispenser. As we were leaving we saw one of the room cleaners sitting in the hallway taking selfies between 2 rooms she had been working on for at least 1.5 hours. SO THAT'S WHY I have spiders and webs all in my room, because someone can't do their job efficiently. Not the worst hotel ever, but if you're reading all of this, you can find better. At least try to find a place with A/C in the rooms, aren't rude about their arbitrary rules they didn't tell you about that make no sense. Oh, also a better cleaning structure that includes getting the spiders and webs off the lights.
