Self-Drive Husky Dog Sledding trip. Fantastic trip highly recommended from start to finish, very friendly dogs and staff. Plenty of stops to change drivers 2 people per sledge. Good for all the family with plenty of time to meet the dogs at the start and end. Hot drink and cake at the end in a heated sami tent. We went on the 9am pick up trip, and you get to see sun rise while out on the sledge over the mountains. All clothing included if you dont have any thermal coats or trousers and boots. Bring your own hat and gloves though.
This place is amazing! I've wanted to dog sled my whole life, as long as I can remember, ever since I first read about it in a book as a kid. I fulfilled that dream here and I was not disappointed. Here are several major reasons to book dog sledding through here: 1. You can drive the sled. You actually get to control the sled and the dogs pull you along. Short of committing yourself to being a professional dog sled racer, this is as close as most of us will ever get to a true mushing experience. 2. The staff are great. They have excellent tips and advice and will make sure you are successful on your sled tour. They even take pictures with your phone at one point, if you want them to. 3. The dogs are very clearly well cared for and happy. You get to cuddle with them at the end of the tour and it's so easy to see how happy, healthy, and we'll cared for all these dogs are. I even got loads of kisses from one of the pups at the end of the day. If you want to do dog sledding and your in Tromso, book through here.
What an amazing experience! The dogs are awesome and eager to get running. We really loved this activity and you are really getting your money's worth: it is not like a small round around the backyard but rather it's a proper tour around unblemished landscapes around 15Km long. Probably our highlight on this trip to Tromsø!
Thank you so much for the wonderful adventures we had this week with you and for giving my kids still a Place eben though everything was booked. I will never forget the feeling just before an when the dogs start running. What a sound. What a joy to feel they just want to go. Also thank you for being so friendly to my parents and let them look around even though they did not want to drive the sleddge any more.
Well organized tour. And a great experience. Dogs are treated with a great care and staff is helpful. Sometimes bit strict, but that you have to be if you have more than 100 dogs around. 90 minutes of sledding went like 15 minutes, great track, amazing views. And those huskies are really friendly and happy to meet you. Don't imagine you'll do Amundsen style with some crazy speed running, it's more like a chill trip, but with some challenging parts. It's a good level for the first sledding experience. I recommend you pick afternoon trip as you'll get sunrise over the mountains and very picturesque golden hour. You get warm suits and winter boots that are really warm. After sledding you're treated with coffee, tea and cake. You have plenty of time to meet the dogs and make pictures.
What a fantastic morning out! Perfect weather, fluffy snow and so many lovely huskies. Nothing quite like cruising through the snow watching the sun peak over the mountains with some furry friends. Be prepared to work up a sweat as the pups need some help up the hills sometimes especially if you’re chunky. Delicious cake and warm drink as a reward at the end
It was amazing. This was our second time there in winter. The landscape is simply breathtaking and the team takes really good care of the dogs. We had hot chocolate and super tasty chocolate and carrot cake to warm us up.
This is a once in a lifetime experience. Rising the sledge on top of the snowy hills, is just creating unique memories and pictures in one's mind. The owner and everybody were very welcoming. Definitely a must...!
Absolutely unforgettable experience. So much fun with fantastic guides who clearly love what they do and take such good care of the beautiful dogs who really are the star of the show, so friendly and clearly love their work. Perfect for beginners and dog lovers.
We spent the morning with Arctic Adventure Tours at their Husky Kennels / Sledding with Huskies. It was an incredible experience. The groups are small, maybe 15-20. The bus ride from Tromso took around 35 minutes. On arrival you are greeted and provided with boots and thermal suits. Then you can head out to meet the dogs. After a presentation on how to ride the sleds, you’ll meet your dog team and off you go on an adventure around the stunning landscape with these most beautiful of dogs. Do keep in mind that controlling the sleds is quite physical and for a newbie it can be challenging. 1000% worth doing.
