Friendly service at the desk, great car and deposit returned minus toll road and ferry fees in 2 days. Unfortunately the over the phone customer service for AVIS is poor with long hold times, but this is not the fault of the branch.
Excellent Service and Smooth Experience with AVIS. I recently had the pleasure of hiring a car from AVIS and I must say, the experience exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, everything was handled with utmost professionalism and efficiency. The staff at AVIS were incredibly pleasant and helpful, making the process not only smooth but also quite enjoyable. Their customer service was top-notch, and I felt valued and well taken care of throughout my interaction with them. One of the highlights of my experience was receiving a complimentary car upgrade. This unexpected bonus was a delightful surprise and truly enhanced my overall experience. The car provided was in excellent condition - clean, well-maintained, and a joy to drive. Returning the car was just as hassle-free as the rest of the process. The drop-off procedure was straightforward – I simply parked the car and dropped the keys in a designated box. This convenience was much appreciated, especially when you're rushing to catch a flight or have other time-sensitive commitments. In summary, my experience with AVIS was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of friendly staff, smooth processes, a free upgrade, and an excellent vehicle made my car hire experience one to remember. I would highly recommend AVIS to anyone in need of a reliable and hassle-free car rental service.
Definitely not recommended. I received a dirty car. In addition to this booking I booked an extra driver and car insurance online. Of course when I get to the sales person, it is not booked. I cannot access my reservation to confirm or deny this. The sales person says the car is new, there is no damage to it. It is dark, but even so I can see the car is dirty. And there is a scratch. When I call her to come and see, she says I must just take a picture. Then after I give the car back, no communication until a few days later an SMS. There is a tiny bump I did not see, might have been caused after I gave the car back? cost 9000NOK to fix, and in addition the admin and loss of car for 3 days to repair, comes to exactly what my excess cost. Also no snow chains in the middle of winter? Severely disappointed. Avoid at all costs.
Very bad experience with Avis in Norway, everting is made to pay you more and afterwards complete ignore. Customer support promised answered in email in 10 day, passed already 9 months. so it’s your choose if you wanna have troubles or not choosing this company. according to our order, there should be not any extra chargers excepted additional driver as we agree. extra full insurance we never take, + some additional registration fees also wasn’t mentioned to us, so pretty strange to pay more without not mention it.
Our flight was late and the rental desk shut half an hour before we got to it. We had to sleep at the airport overnight. No telephone support service available, no key left for us, no support whatsoever. The vehicles were upgraded to AWD to be fair. Nevertheless, I would not recommend your company to anyone, ever. Completely appalling lack of service and communication.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I received a car that had no brake pads! On the second day of my rental, the rear wheel was completely hot and the car was unable to drive. This is a serious criticism of the company in terms of SECURITY! I drove 500 km from Oslo towards Stavanger and no one from the company answered the phone. I called over 100 times! ZERO CONTACT! I had to shorten my trip and purchase an additional plane ticket from Stavanger. I reported the matter to AVIS support and I've been waiting for another month. THEY DO NOT RESPOND. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! EDIT #1: RENTAL NUMBER: E251993674. EDIT #2: This company is a scam! STILL NO REPLY TO MY REPORT.
We were satisfied. We rented a car in Oslo City Center And returned it in Sandefjord. Car was in great shape. It was a hybrid. We recommend avis. The only disadvantage was Very high extra fee for returning a car in the different place than we took kt
Update: Can you please respond to my emails and stop adding extra charges to my credit card without an explanation! We arrived at Avis and were handed the keys and told that our car was somewhere out there buried under the snow. We then had to dig out the car initially without any assistance in -22 c with only a window scraping tool. Eventually they came out to assist, but left an hour late.
After recently renting a car at Oslo Torp airport with Avis, I’d highly recommend this vehicle provider, extremely friendly and efficient and great value for money too.
Warning! This company is an absolute nightmare! I had the most horrendous experience renting from them. I rented a car in the freezing depths of a Norwegian winter, only to break down in the middle of nowhere. We were stranded for a mind-numbing five hours, freezing our toes off, missing our flights, and cursing the day we ever encountered this hellish company. Finally, they managed to replace our broken-down car, and we returned it as soon as possible. But the nightmare didn't end there! Weeks later, out of the blue, this company began charging our credit card with random and outrageous amounts. They had the audacity to withdraw 100, 200, 500, 550, 720, and a whopping 1010 Norwegian Kroner from our account without any explanation whatsoever! As for now we’ve been charged with more than 7000 NOK. It didn't matter how many emails we sent, across different countries and email addresses, they simply ignored us. This despicable treatment of customers is beyond comprehension. I would strongly caution against ever renting from this abomination of a company. I will never, ever return to them, and I implore everyone I know to steer clear of this wretched establishment.
