The new Bergen market is similar to the car boot sale that is happening all over uk every weekend. The same sort of market exists in France , Belguim Holland Germany Ireland and most European countries . It gives people a chance to sell their unwanted goods rather than throw them away .
Also fun and sociable. Rather than sit alone and sell or buy on the internet (finn) , join us here .
It is very good for the enviroment to recycle rather than throw away and buy new .
Norway is the most wasteful society in Europe per person.
Every day containers full of useable items are either burnt or sold to sweden for burning there. There is so much waste here . Repair things , sell them, give them away , The metal gets sent to china , where they produce more breakable items which get sent back here and break again ! Old is Gold . Teach your children . Consumerism is destroying the earth , their earth !
You are all welcome to buy and sell second hand goods here . Art and crafts also welcome .
As Bergen is a rainy place , party tents and umbrellas could be a good solution as there is no place undercover . If anyone has lots of large parasols , or stalls , let us know . This is a trial period and we really want to establish this as a weekly event .
