It all started in 2003 when Neseblod Records was first established. The small record store located in Oslo, Norway, started selling Black Metal music, clothes, and gadgets to people around the world.
The extreme subgenre Black Metal has its most important roots in Norway. Since Neseblod Records had access to a range of unique and authentic objects through friends in some of the most important Black Metal bands, the variety became well known to fans near and far.
At a certain point, Neseblod stopped selling some of the historical and unique treasures with the purpose of sharing them instead. Neseblod Records became a museum in itself.
The Black Metal collection became larger and with a broader supply of unique and rare objects. Neseblod does not count on the infrastructure for taking good care of this collection, and does not have the possibility of presenting it properly.
The Black Metal Museum concept is so far only a web-based museum, but we are working hard to establish a real museum here in Oslo. We want to take care of this part of the Norwegian music culture, and we want visitors to be able to take a closer look at the very special Norwegian Black Metal history.
The collection we are showing on this website is only a fragment of the whole.
