First meal in Alesund!! 5 course tasting menu was fantastic!! Salted cod was our least favorite but the clear soup base was amazing. Wish whale wasn’t in the set don’t feel comfortable eating them though it was well preparedSo happy to have chosen this place by just looking at the pictures in the reviews! Well done chefs!! Services were attentive too!!
Var på en helkveld med Chefs Table. Ble møtt av serviceinnstilt og meget dyktig personale fra det øyeblikket man satte foten innenfor døra. Vinkelner satte sammen en meget god vinpakke til maten, og kokkene leverte utsøkte retter av høyeste kvalitet. Veldig positivt at man spiller på lokale råvarer og mattradisjoner. Hit kommer jeg garantert tilbake!
The menu here is seasonal and our expected dishes weren't available. They had instead a multi course meal, fixed price meal. We're generally an unadventurous family when it comes to food choices, but this was AMAZING! Our server incredibly attentive and the chef, Jonathan was an artist. They all had such pride in each dish and not a single dish disappointed! This was our best dining experience not just in Alesund, but to date. We highly recommend and whether you're an adventurous eater or not, trust the chef! Every course was art.
Seriously one of the best dining experiences of my life. Delicious and creative food explained very well by the wait staff. The chef went out of their way to modify my wifes plates to accomadate her corn and egg allergies. AMAZING! Spesielle kostholdsbehov: Willing to modify plates for allergies!
My fish and chips, came beautifully plated looking unexpected. The fish itself was tasty, fresh and of good quality. It came pared with one of the best side of fries I’ve ever had, extremely crispy and creamy at once; spiced perfectly. Take the crispy fish and chips and combine them with the sweet pea mash and the sweet fennel, contrasted by the sour carrots. Accompanied by a dip, made up from mustard, mayonnaise, dill and pees assumptions, that was just refreshing, perfectly balanced and tasteful. The fish soup was tasty, fruity and nicely balanced with spices. The bowl came filled with a lot of fish and mussels. Alongside the soup came a few pieces of crispy and moist bread, as the waiter described it - the fish soup was heavenly and the fish and chips were fantastic. The service was kind and accommodating, all spoke perfectly fine English and tried their best with the other customers who didn’t. The restaurant is peacefully located of the Main Street, inside the Harbour area. The modern design harmonized beautifully with the traditional surroundings; allowing you to lean back for a hour and to enjoy your meal. The price was fair.

Hands down. Verdense beste! We had a five course dinner. I would say the concept truly reflects the Nordic cuisine, specifically Sunnmøre region. I was amazed by the staff’s knowledge regarding what they serve. In addition to that, when i ask one of them where did you get this mug set, i was informed at once. Overall, I would say atmosphere 8.5/10, food in terms creativity 9.5/10, taste 9/10. And here some of the food pictures like Seasonal vegetables, Klipfish from Dybvik Veal from Edel Gaard and lastly my favourite sourdough bread served with butter leek oil and shredded dry fish. The wild garlicky taste that comes from leek was very successful. Some other details regarding the five course: the butter sauce in seasonal vegetable, the level of cooking meat and fish was literally perfect. Lastly, the umami taste from bone marrow combined with the veal and wild garlic was very good. I would absolutely suggest this place to have a truly Nordic cuisine experience.
What a welcome to Ålesund we had! This restaurant blew us out of the water with the experience had. From start to finish, the service was fantastic, something not experienced in similar restaurants in the "big smoke" of Oslo. The menu was small and tailored to the season Summer! and although it would have been great to sit by the kitchen and enjoy the chef’s "special" menu, the four course menu hit the spot! I wont give too much away, but when it comes to fresh seafood and meat, the chefs know what they’re doing! The paired wines to the courses were near on perfect and went down a treat. We were three nights in Ålesund and out of the venues we visited, Restaurant Bro was absolute tops. If I could give 7/5 stars I would. Thanks again for an enjoyable evening and showing us the best of Ålesund and food from the region! Cheers.
OMG! That’s all i’d love to say! But I’m gonna add also the fact that this restaurant is not a restaurant, is much more. Is simply an incredible experience deep in the gastronomy of Ålesund. Absolutely stunning and delicious. Simply a must. If you don’t try this you can’t say you enjoyed Ålesund at its best. Many gongrats to the chefs but specially to Tommy that served us, great waiter and barman and great explanation of the courses. Thanks for looking after my girlfriend and me.
We ordered a menu pared with wine, which was very interesting. High quality food and wine - an adventure for your tastebuds.Mat: 4/5
