First time in Stavanger I experience the real Italian food. Fresh homemade pasta, fresh octopus salad and tiramisu made as tradition. I thought the owner was Italian, but not! Amazing passion of authentic Italian recipes. I was surprised and very satisfied. I will come back. Prices in the average of many restaurants in Stavanger.
Wonderful dining experience at Casa Gio. Because there's only a number of tables, service is superb and you get fantastic recommendations based on the day's menu. Most are sourced locally and pasta sauces are home made. Make sure to try the cheese and salami plate as a starter ! If they're on the menu, I highly recommend the ravioli and the hazelnut cake
Best italian place in Stavanger. Good and homemade pasta and traditional tiramisu. Menu is changing every day, based on products they have. Perfect for a romantic date, because atmosphere inside is cosy and warm.Mat: 5/5
The pasta was hand made and fresh and every dish is beautifully plated. The wine offering is also great with plenty options of the different Italian regions. The restaurant is small and cozy. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the waiting times between dishes, it was a bit long.
4 Canadians. First meal in Norway. Wonderful staff. Warm food. Ravioli was fantastic. Wine was perfectly paired. A great experience overall. Thank you! Update** Returned 1 year later - maybe ever better. We’ll be back each and every time!
Excelent food, homemade pasta and friendly service. Giovanna makes Italy alive in Stavanger!!! The starter included salami and cheese with truffles. The freshly baked foccasia was made partly on sour dough and was amazing!
If you want to taste Italy in Stavanger you must eat at Casa Gio! Homemade pasta, quality Italian salamis and award winning cheeses, the best olive oil from Spain and a great selection of wines. It has creative raviolis, fresh local seafood and the best tiramisu!! The ambient is relaxed and cozy, specially in the garden with beautiful plants and a distinguished print of a yellow beetroot. The service is helpful and you will definitely learn something about food when you leave smiling and safistied. Make your reservation cause places are limited!! Enjoy it :D

We were ignored by the waiting staff when we arrived, only to be shown to our table when someone in the kitchen saw that we were waiting to be seated. We waited over 15 minutes to be offered drinks. There was no menu and we were told that the specials on the blackboard were not available, only three dishes we were given verbally. We had an antipasti and a salad, but not told what either were comprised of, so had a plate of mystery meats and cheeses. We were told the gnocchi was not available but later saw other people being served it. The main meals and dessert were good, but were very overpriced for what they were. Little atmosphere, no candles or music. Red wine was served cold.
