Geschichte ELEFANT Studio and Office Space for Creative Professionals It started in spring 2013 when we - four visual artists and two cultural entrepreneurs - were looking for a space to rent. We wanted a large space and professional surroundings. The former print house in Erfjordgata, Storhaug, built in the 1960s, with high ceilings and industrial atmosphere, was the perfect location. With grateful financial support from Arts Council Norway and Stavanger Municipality, we were able to construct studios, offices, exhibition space, workshop and common areas the way we wanted. We expanded from six to more than 20 creative workers within a year. Today, around 30 professionals are based in our space; architects, photographers, artists, writers, designers, publishers, filmmakers, accountant, producers, journalists and inventors. We are Elefant.
