Info Bøker på dialekt og nynorsk i Østfold./Books in the dialects of Østfold and in the "New Norwegian" language. Bokkjøp/Order at http://kvitveis.no Geschichte Kvitveis forlag is based in the Norwegian county of Østfold. It is run by Marit and Magne Aasbrenn from their home in Fredrikstad. We publish books in the local dialects of Østfold and in the language of nynorsk. This language was created by Ivar Aasen during the mid-19th century, to provide a Norwegian alternative to the Danish language which was commonly written in Norway at the time. Even though bokmål, or Dano-Norwegian, is the dominant written language in our part of Norway and is likely to be so for a long time we want to open up our part of Norway to nynorsk, too.
