Info Aura Biofloc AS is a technical service company strategically located in Sunndalsora, Norway, the heart/powerhouse of the modern aquaculture technology. Geschichte Achieving Sustainability in Aquaculture Aquaculture should provide a global sustainable source of animal protein in an effort to supply an increasingly growing demand. Aquaculture is being lately criticized as a risky and non-sustainable activity, especially in open waters as it may generate pollution by the residues of the cage systems. Aquaculture needs more efficiency and control, less pollution and a sustainable model. We at Storvik Biofloc are inspired in the more developed, efficient and organized agriculture clusters that will have sustainable answers to these problems. The Biofloc technology may help the aquaculture industry to achieve some of the advantages and worldwide competitiveness the main sustainable agriculture clusters. Some aquatic organisms like tilapias and shrimps can be commercially farmed in a fully sustainable, zero-effluent and controllable aquaculture systems, very similar to poultry, using our Biofloc Technology. We have experimented in research and put our knowledge under test and several parameter optimizations in several commercial structures in Brazil, Mexico and soon in Kurdistan. This relatively new and unique system are being documenting in a Manual with all our achievements and recommendations since 2007, so that this knowledge is constantly updated and can be transmitted in a clear and comprehensive way through several commercial sites worldwide. Our Strengths We have developed a technology with the following advantages: - Zero effluent, biosecurity improvement and environmentally friendly; - Low use of water and land, good for expensive and desert areas; - Low production cost (the lowest FCR available); - Any diseases or Health problems detected in more than 18 years; - Production stability, predictability and high control/automatization level; - Healthier final product, with more omega-3 and improved taste. Our Mission and Vision Our mission is to satisfy the growing demand for a low production cost and sustainable Aquaculture Production System, with a minimum environment impact at a maximum profit rates. Our vision is to be the world leaders in the aquaculture industry services, distinguished by our contribution to a healthier production system and final products to the diet of the people and excellence in economic, cultural, ecological and social sustainability. We specialize in the efficient production of Tilapia in Bioflocs, but we are also developing expertise in Vannamei shrimps, Asian Seabass (Barramundi) as well as the Paiche/Pirarucu (Arapaima gigas).
