Info Welcome to the most prestigious freeride ski and snowboard event in Northern Europe. Geschichte Røldal Freeride is the host of the iconic Røldal Freeride Challenge in addition to the Norwegian Open Junior Freeride championship. In 2000, the idea of Røldal Freeride Challenge was created by Pelle Gangeskar and Bettina Gavoll-Hansen with the objective to uncover the fantastic and fierce riding opportunities in Røldal to more skiers and boarders. Røldal is a hidden and charming village located South-West of the Hardangervidda mountain plateau and has has the deepest snow in Europe with an average winter-time snowfall of 12 meters (480 inches).
