Historie

SO FUN plane, spotting, and traveling it feels like my heart is warming up to feel the engine noise revving up BROOOOO!!!!
Small but very well organised airport. Fast security check. Not much flights, mainly domestics and some to Poland -Gdansk. Prices in shoops quite ok. In good price you can take bus 70 to center of Trondheim for 43Nok.
Small airport, well organzied and not crowded, so the check-in and security check go fast and easily. You need to take out your electronics laptop, ipad, and liquids bags though at the security check. But it goes fast enough. Then, there are 2 terminals: 1. Terminal A for domestic flights only: you enter this terminal first and it has a few restaurants and food stores, although none of them are very good, all quite poorly rated, overpriced and bad quality food sandwiches with old bread and igredients f.eg.. 2: Terminal B for international flights only: all international flights depart from this terminal, and you can't return to the domestic flights terminal once entering here. There is only one foodstore with some sandwiches, kanelbulle and pastries called Herfra here, not a lot of variety and as poorly rated as the ones in Terminal A. The duty free store is located here too, and has real offers especially to Norwegian products like for example Freya chocolate they have the Travel edition at 39 NOK, cheaper and bigger than the ones in supermarkets . Overall, a small organised airport, you can't get lost in here, all goes well, fast and smoothly. If only there was better food. : Transportation: you can take the train, bus or airport shuttle bus to/from here to Trondheim city. The Værnes express airport shuttle bus is much more expensive, but very convenient in terms of timing, as it travels every 15 minutes and their station is located inside the airport. You can pay online on their website or live at location. The trains and buses don't go so often, but they're cheaper. For the trains, you can pay at the tickets machine. The city buses are cheap 45 NOK adult ticket, and go every 2 hours or so. You can pay using Trondheim transport app, AtB. Their station is called Trondheim lufthavn station and is located just outside the airport max 5min walking through the airport parking.
Easily the worst airport ever, considering I've been to many in various continents. I was a transit passenger, but no facilities for transit, so we had to stay uncomfortably in the check in area, with barely any seat. Whilst it is understandable this is a small airport, they definitely could have added more. 'Security' was by far the worst. Our duty free bag got seized with two olive oil bottles, something that has never happened. After quizzing security staff about it, they did not want to say the exact reason. This is where it gets amusing: the lady then started claiming it was for safety, as she could not verify they were ours. So then we showed them the receipt. She began panicking and enlisted the help of a short, stocky, female security guard. She then started saying she could not show the exact regulation to us, as it was 'internal'. Funnily enough, the other passengers that were carrying alcohol and other liquids not even from duty free got away scot free. I hate using the race card, but it does seem suspicious that the only non-white people had to go through such poor treatment. The short, stocky lady then began saying we needed an extra sealed bag, but she did not want to provide any. In the end, we could tell that they were getting greedy and probably wanted the oil for themselves. Really poor behaviour and service, something that has never happened to any of us after being through dozens of airport security. Unprofessional staff and poorly trained. We did not get any compensation whatsoever. Avoid this airport if possible. The other reviews were not kidding.
The baggage control company gives an image of a third world airport, the girl who opens almost all the suitcases of travellers with dirty and filthy gloves to grope your underwear and the toothbrush that you put in your mouth to give you an infection after having touched hundreds of suitcases. She doesn't change her gloves. It's disgusting and unhygienic, you have to be especially careful if you bring creams, cheese, butter, jam, toothpaste or soap, for that person everything is liquid and she will take it away from you. A bad experience for the start of many people's journey, one woman was even in tears. I have travelled many years in this country and I have never encountered such unempathetic people.
The bakery near the toll has glutenfree sandwiches and muffins, my friend was very happy about that. I was able to spend a night there while I waited for my friends to arrive the next day, nobody kicked me out and I get a bit sleep. Very thankful for that There are videos on a display over the check-in, so while standing in the queue to wait you can watch these videos about how to behave at the check-in, what's allowed in the carry-on luggage, about liquids... Sadly many stores don't open until 8 a.m.
The one star is not for the airport but for the security staff. Never experienced such an ugly behaviour like the old lady at the sec check. She throw away a thing from my bag, I had never problem to carry on before at any other airport- not mentioning the waste of the food. I never complain on public forums but she pissed me off. So poor behaviour and service :-
Trondheim airport is a bit far from the center, but bus services are available and sufficient for transportation. Of course, it is not a Frankfurt or Istanbul airport, especially before security, the number of shops is low. There used to be Starbucks but now it's closed. There is 7Eleven and I think it is the most ideal situation for a plane passenger with its price advantage. At this point, I congratulate Norway. The interest precedes the price.
Aldri opplevde noe slik i Norge.
