A subcommittee of The Norwegian School of Economics Student Unions (NHHS), GEP engages students in the discussion of vital political and economic issues.
GEP is part of the Student Union at The Norwegian School of Economics (NHHS), and strives for an increased awareness on social, political, and economic issues among members of the student body. There is absolutely no doubt that the world is still getting smaller, and GEP wants to contribute to make future economists ready for this development. The organization is politically independent and entirely student-run.
Through debates and conferences GEP seeks to focus on important social and economic issues, and to create a forum for opinion and knowledge exchange. Participants at GEPs events, besides many enthusiastic students, are prominent people from politics, academia and business. Examples are former Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Parliament President Dag Terje Andersen, Erna Solberg, Eivind Reiten, Jan Petersen, Victor Norman, Frank Aarebrot, Ole Moen, Kjetil Bjorvatn, Finn Bergesen jr., Harald Magnus Andreassen and others.
