It was a pleasure to stay at Hotel Aak! We had the best meal of the trip here and met some wonderful people at the community table set-up. The breakfast was amazing as well. The area has a lot to do and see and I would highly recommend staying here if you have the chance.Rom: 5/5
My husband and I had such a lovely stay at Hotel Aak. The hotel is beautiful and is nicely updated while maintaining the charm of the old, original building. The room was very comfortable, and there were really nice common spaces to hang out in too. The food was really spectacular, and I highly recommend doing their dinner. All of the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and really goes above and beyond to ensure you have a good stay. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area!
Very lovely hotel with friendly staff and amazing food. If you stay here, definitely try the 3-course dinner. Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. I wasnt a guest of thr hotel but ate dinner there. I must say it was a amazing experience! Definitely worth a visit. Local and tastefull meal paired amazingly with a interesting wines, provided by amazing people! Great non alko options as well. Thank you for amazing evening.
Hi, We stayed 3 nights at the Aak hotel. The hotel was great, the team was very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious, very tasty, unique and fine. We loved the dinners around the long table where you meet and speak with new people. Highly recommendedRom: 5/5
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Aak for three nights in July 2023, and we are so glad we did. This is truly an exceptional hotel, and is someplace that we would love to return to. First and foremost, the staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, the building is beautifully decorated with local art, and the grounds are ordained with flowers and a functioning garden, the food was outstanding, the gear rentals were of high quality, and the location was stunning and peaceful. We initially found Hotel Aak while searching for road bike rentals in the area. There aren’t many options in this part of Norway, but upon discovering Hotel Aak’s policy of free gear rentals with three nights stay, and reading so many 5-star reviews, we decided to go for it. Hotel Aak is located in Romsdal, an area renowned for its high peaks, towering rock walls, enormous waterfalls, and nearby fjords. Its location, gear rentals, and knowledgeable staff make Hotel Aak an exceptional place to take advantage of all of this. Hotel Aak is adjacent to the river and walking/bike path and a short drive or bike ride from Åndalsnes, the switch-backing Trollstigen road, towering Trollvegen wall, Romsdal Fjord, and many other sights. Additionally, several of the staff members are climbers and photographers and can offer first-hand recommendations about the hiking, climbing, and sightseeing nearby. In addition to lodging, Hotel Aak is also exceptional for the food they serve. We enjoyed fresh, home-made breakfasts each morning included in the price of the room. Additionally, we had a four-course dinner and wine one evening for an additional cost, and enjoyed socializing with the other guests. They also offer bagged “to-go” lunches at a very reasonable price. The menus are varied slightly each day, making for a diverse experience. The food is cooked on-site and is beautifully plated and served by members of the staff who explained each of the food items and where they came from. Many of the ingredients are grown in the hotel garden, and others are sourced locally. The food was the perfect combination of healthy and delicious. During our stay, we had many conversations with members of the staff and other guests, getting to know them and the country’s culture in the process. Like many Norwegians, they spoke perfect English, but the staff went out of their way to converse with us and present meals in English, making us foreigners feel right at home the entire time. The ability to socialize with locals is a quintessential part of traveling that can be hard to find at hotel chains and private Airbnbs. While the nightly rate is slightly higher than we normally pay for lodging, when factoring in the gear rentals, home-cooked meals, and high caliber of the accommodations, the value was exceptional. It was the highlight of our trip to Norway, and somewhere we will go out of our way to return to in the future. No elevator for upstair rooms. Difficult to take heavy luggage from beautiful round stairs. But staff is very cooperative, Helped us to lift luggage. Mat og drikke: Food was excellent. Chef is very friendly, he describes food before serving, which is very interesting.
Flott hotell med topp service og hyggelig betjening. Frokosten var en egen opplevelse med tanke på kreativ og nydelig mat servert med et glimt i øye. Tipp topp! Anbefales! :- Mat og drikke: Nydelig mat!

Fantastisk sted! Anbefales! Deilige senger, rent og hyggelig atmosfære. Frokosten slår all tidligere hotellfrokost når det gjelder kreativitet, utvalg og ikke minst bærekraft. Deilig hjemmelaget på huset, det aller meste som f.eks jordbærsyltetøy av jordbær fra Valldal, nydelig smaksrik grov leverpostei laget av vertinnen. Veldig sosialt og hyggelig å sitte ved langbord og få sitt utvalg på planker, med stadig påminnelse om at påfyll var mulig. HERLIG!!!
