Leap Learning develops educational apps for basic literacy and numeracy skills. The apps are used by approximately 200 schools in Norway and in our Learning Labs in Africa, Asia and South America.
The Alphabet King stories are designed to help children make the connection between the sound and the shape of a letter, assisting their reading and writing. There is one story for each letter. Stories about joined up writing, making words and alphabetical order are also included.
It is based on a powerful educational concept, that has been used in Norwegian schools for years, and is now renewed and illustrated to inspire even more children. Trials have shown that children who have struggled with letter recognition, grasp it with The Alphabet King, because the stories link sound and shape together.
Suitable for use in school and at home, The Alphabet King stories reinforce learning for children up to the age of seven.
The Alphabet King has a mission to share these stories with all the children in the world, in their local language. Profits from the sales will go to educational programs related to The Alphabet King in developing countries that give away the stories for free.
The Alphabet King - written by Kate Errington, from a concept developed by Halldis Nessa, published by Marit Olderheim of Africa Startup.
