This modern, purpose-built resort has an idyllic waterfront location on the picturesque Malangen Peninsula, just an hour’s drive from Tromsø, the largest city in Northern Norway. During the winter season, we aim to be the leading Northern Lights resort in the Tromsø region, providing complete solutions involving transport, accommodation, dining and Northern Lights adventures. This is the perfect place for business or pleasure, offering a unique combination of fjord and mountain and everything needed for a memorable stay within easy walking distance. Accommodation is available in a choice of hotel room, apartment, sea-view cabin, deluxe sea-view cabin or deluxe waterfront cabin – all offering a high standard of quality and comfort and spectacular views. Our restaurant specialises in North Norwegian cuisine made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Malangen Resort has a total of 86 accommodation units and can accommodate up to 360 guests.

Situated on the fjord facing west the rooms are large, have huge windows and excellent views, walk in showers are good, sink taps are pleasing to look but weird to use. No TV fine, no USB sockets irritating. Decent hikes available up to lake and around abouts. Dinner and breakfast were average quality, staff in reception were helpful but staff in resto were largely absent.
I do not get the reviews rhat are negative here. What a lovely place. Super quiet and contemplative. At the same time you can very active hiking, fishing, dog sledding, darts, sauna with arctic swimming, lake canoeing and Northern Lights chasing. We stayed in the hotel and were very happy. We did not see the Lights, but it was fine. If you are interested mainly in the lights , probably the chances are higher in the winter. Rommet var over 30 grader hele tiden, helt grumsomt, og vi fikk bare en vifte som ikke hjalp på, det lå en skitten hånduk på badet, denne tok jeg bilde av å viste i resepsjonen, fikk bare en ny. Flekker på gulvet og støv på gulv og viften. Nydelig plass, en dame ga oss ypperlig service i resturanten, de hadde en fin badeplass. 1800kr for jacuzzi, altfor dyrt men var koselig. I baren hadde de kun en køe til biljard, og denne var ødelagt. Og toalettet på selve hotellet hadde en ødelagt vask, så fikk ikke vasket hendene, dette måtte gjøres på rommet. Aktiviteter i nærheten: Bading, jacuzzi, padleboard og sauna.
A few words about the restaurant. Tasty food and good service. There are no other restaurants within 30 km, which does not reduce the quality at all. When visiting Malangen Resort, it is worth having a good dinner there.Rom: 4/5
Great location and very comfortable room with great views. However, more than a resort it's a pay for everything you want to use kind of place. And the staff are the most unpleasant I've met in Norway. Such a shame as this place had potential.Rom: 5/5
Cabins offer amazing views with an outstanding master bedroom. Other rooms are a lot smaller. Kitchen is well equipped for home catering. Staff were very welcoming and helpful at all times. Great set up for all outdoor activities, including cold weather clothes and boots. Restaurant is fairly pricey, but food and service are excellent, so it offers reasonable value. The only minor negative is that there is a high turnover of tourists, all rushing to planned activities, so you can feel like just a number at times. Overall, an excellent location for all your northern experiences in one place - recommended!

Utrolig fin plass med fin utsikt og mye å se på. Er ikke helt fornøyd med service og mat jeg fikk der da. Rom: Leide rorbu å den var utrolig flott. Mat og drikke: For lite mat på frokosten. Til middag fikk vi noe rart å det var lite mat da å.
My stay at Malangen Brygger Resort near Tromso was absolutely fantastic. The customer service provided was exemplary, especially considering the challenges I faced with delayed flights due to snow. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my changed schedule and reschedule my excursions, ensuring I didn't miss out on any experiences. The rooms, particularly the house we stayed in by the fjord, were incredible, offering unparalleled views and comfort. One of the highlights of my stay was witnessing the northern lights multiple times during my time at the resort. I highly recommend booking the hot tub experience. Despite being a bit of a drive from Tromso, the resort's location is undeniably worth it for the breathtaking scenery and aurora-viewing opportunities. The only downside was the restaurant at the resort, which didn't quite meet expectations, and the limited dining options nearby. Nonetheless, the overall experience at Malangen Brygger Resort surpassed all expectations, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable getaway in the Tromso area.
Love the hotel and the restaurant. The view is absolutely stunning here. Also the dog sledding experience was so wonderful! Highly recommended.Rom: 5/5
