We’re from London so we’re pretty spoilt when it comes to sushi, but honestly, this one is next level. Just so fresh, so well made, so delicious and full of flavour, and made with love! We ended up saying “I came to Norway to have the best sushi!”. We also came back the next day because it was all so good. The Mandalay fried noodles were top as well btw. Pictures are from our two separate visits.
Had the Mandalay Noodles with tofu. Fantastic taste. Bit oily but that's needed to cook it well. Even though the current menu doesn't mention it, most dishes can be made with tofu. Good for vegans and vegetarians.

I only took the take away vegetar maki with vegetables. It was really good and I was happy to find affordable place to eat in the centre of the Bergen. This is so budget friendly and tasty food. It only took them 5 minutes to give me my food. And I was happy as they have lot of vegetarian items as well.Mat: 5/5
This is by far the best sushi place I have ever been to. Ranging from the food quality, the service, and the efficiency. I was lucky enough to be served by Will and he is the best server out there. So nice and generous, and was really welcoming to me and my friend who were tourists in Bergen. The sushi was as fresh as could be and so delicious and I really couldn't rate it any higher. Absolutely must go here if you go to Bergen. Thanks Mandalay!
Ate here twice during a recent holiday to Bergen. The food was very tasty we had the Tom Yum soup and Hot Pot, which we can recommend, and the rice noodle stir fry was excellent as well. The waiter was very friendly and the restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere. I could definitely recommend this restaurant, prices are reasonable for Norway too!
The spicy fish soup here is excellent. They did not shy away from making this spicy..the heat is from freshly crushed black pepper; great for those cold rainy days in Bergen. The scampi tempura was excellent too. The service was managed by 1 guy and he seemed to be a master in the art of service; pleasant, attentive and quick. My wife, who's a vegetarian, ordered the pad thai with tofu and she loved it too. It was spicy too, but from chillies. I highly recommend this place for those who enjoy non watered-down authentic asian food.
Taste 8.5/10 Value 8.5/10 Service 10/10 Highlights: - sushi was nice - Burmese food was very flavourful. What could be improved was to make their food alittle less salty. Other than that their food is good.
I feel like every review that we've posted about food in Bergen has been positive. Mandalay was no exception. I ordered the Chicken masala and my wife had the roast. Both were packed with flavor! One warning, the Chicken Masala...even when asked to be made with mild spiciness...packs a spicy punch. Still worth it! Wait staff were very patient while figuring out what we wanted, gave some excellent recommendations and made our dining experience a quality one. I can't speak to the sushi, but the other items were fantastic!
Utrolig god burmesisk fiskesuppe med mye god smak og aroma. Ble møtt av hyggelig personale. Hovedretten var også av høy standard. Anbefaler alle å prøve fiskesuppen! Kommer gjerne tilbake.Mat: 5/5
