Extreme Norwegian Guitars handmade to order!
Since the early 1990’s, one of Norway’s largest cultural exports has been the musical genre known as black metal. The development of bands in this fierce subgenre of heavy metal has become an important part of paving the way for what is now referred to as extreme metal. Morfeus Guitars comes from the mind of one such artist who has been not only inspired by, but a part of the extreme metal scene for over 20 years.
Morfeus Guitars’ headquarters and workshop are located deep in the Norwegian forest. Not only will your guitar be handmade in the iconic birthplace of black metal, but we also strive to build your guitar using wood that grows and has been harvested here in Norway.
If you are interested in a different style, or our designs are not quite extreme enough for you, we offer you the option of creating your custom guitar. We want to help you design and customize the guitar you want.
The majority of our guitars are handmade to order, whether you are selecting from one of our MG Designs or having your custom guitar created. Contact us to order your guitar or with any questions you have about Morfeus Guitars. We look forward to working with you!
About Morfeus
Morfeus started his professional career as a musician in 1994 when he joined the symphonic black metal band, Limbonic Art. Given the fact that Limbonic Art was more of a studio endeavor than a live band, Morfeus began to work with other artists around the globe. It was never enough for Morfeus to enjoy a passive role in bands, and that is why, in 2003, he decided to take things more seriously with Dimension F3H, a band that began as his side-project back in 2000. In 2008, Morfeus was asked to join ranks with the legendary Norwegian black metal band Mayhem as guitarist. He performed live and did session guitar work with the band until 2012. In 2013, he joined with ex members of Trail of Tears to form the band Viper Solfa, which is currently his second active band including Dimension F3H.
Apart from his musical work, Morfeus is also a graphic designer and illustrator, having already done the layout of all his Limbonic Art and Dimension F3H releases, as well as Norway’s Odium’s debut and other bands. He has always been interested in woodworking and, in 1992, took his first woodworking class. Many years later, after recording a demo with a local band where the band’s guitarist was using a guitar he had built, the idea sparked in Morfeus’ mind that he could also build his own guitar. It wasn’t until 2006, after a great amount of time was spent acquiring the proper tools and guitar building knowledge, that the dream to build a guitar became reality. Since then, Morfeus has played numerous shows using guitars he has handcrafted and designed.
