The location and the experience is very good. I am big viking enthusiast and love the history and mythology of scandinavia. But the entry fees was high. When I compare on what I paid vs what I get, the entry seemed expensive to me. The souvenir shop is really nice however. A little expensive but very exclusive and special souvenirs.
Visiting was a spectacular way to learn about the people of the Viking era. Get a guided tour; our guide was FANTASTIC and incredibly knowledgeable. Recommend budgeting at least 2 hours for the tour and time to wander around and interact with the people. Loved the Viking Village. It was beautifully crafted and the staff clothed in Viking costumes was friendly and open. Kids and adults could throw ax, shoot arrows, visit little shops with handcrafts for sale and play the drums. This was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip! It’s an incredibly immersive Viking village where you can walk inside replica homes and businesses. Since we went in off season there weren’t many people working the shops but we got an incredible 1-hour tour from a very knowledgeable guide I can’t remember his name but he did the 1 pm tour on 2/14 so thank you! Another worker also showed us how to use a bow and arrow and it was unbelievable! They have a great cafe and gift shop too. Plus beautiful surroundings! It’s an absolute must visit!
Great viking village where people like us can see how the Vikings lived. Many of the people that work there also live in the viking village thru the summer. Great guides, informative and worth the cost. Make sure you spend some time to talk to the vikings. Located in the fantastic Gudvangen valley.
Very interesting place to learn about the Vikings way of life. The people working there are very friendly, patient and enthusiastic. We spent a nice moment there trying to throw axes or listening to Viking's story
Really cool experience. All the vikings are really nice and knowledgeable, we enjoyed and highly recommend visiting.
It was an amazing viking experience beside the fjords, waterfalls and the picturesque nature!!! Full of fun filled activities! Throwing an axe on the wood, watching vikings fight, viking boat trip, and many more! Food was great! Thor's hammer is highly recommended! A MUST when visiting Norway!!!
Flott vikinglandsby i nydelige omgivelser. Flott kunsthåndverk i ekte vikingånd. Plassen for vikingentusiaster.
Went on Thursday 26. At first was not sure thought it might be mainly for kids. However, it was really good. The guides were really knowledgeable and eager to answer all questions. The shop was better than most souvenir shops not the usual tat. I recommend it.
