We rented a car for a week in Lofoten and we found Rent a Car Moskenes to be extremely reliable. I must admit that other reviews brought me to Rent a Car Moskenes, because we wanted to find a vehicle after dropping off the ferry, and there aren’t many options. Communication was good - on Facebook messenger and by phone - the car was in a good condition and everything went smoothly. Thank you for helping us with a great experience in Lofoten! I totally recommend this company for anyone looking to rent a car in Lofoten.
Convenient pick up location right at the harbour. We rented a small Toyota, which was great as the roads in Lofoten are quite narrow and it was less stressful to drive as there are quite many large camper vans driving around. The communication with the rental agency was also fast and easy. Easy pick up and drop off. We were very pleased.
I had a great experience with Rent-a-car Moskenes. When a bus hit my car in a parking, they provided great support and even came down to my hotel and fixed the car on the spot in the morning before I even needed to drive. Thank you so much!
Very nice and friendly service. I contacted them via Facebook to rent a car for a day, so I can be sure to catch the ferry at 7am, since there are not many available or realible taxi services in and around Moskenes. The bus services also didn't start that early. The person is generally there at his small office during normal weekday hours when ferries are supposed to come, but for unsual hours he can came to meet/greet you if you inform him well in advance. You can't miss the office - you'll see it soon as you pass the waiting room when getting off the ferry. For returning the car during odd hours, there's a box you can simply drop off your keys.
Super easy right next to the ferry. Very friendly and helpful via text. No hassle and safe car. Frederick and his little rental shop made me smile the whole time I was renting the car. A great experience. I love working with local businesses and am rewarded by places like this! Thank you!
Great Service and location. The Office is right at the ferry that comes from Bodø. We had a technical issue with a car that the owner had absolutely no influence on and we received a new car with no extra charge in a matter of 20 minutes.
Good car rental company! We were able to pick up the car at 18:30 and brought it back at 06:30. Located right by the ferry. Friendly service and a good working car. The best way to explore the Lofoten.
Please please please check your vehicle’s tyres before you rent from here. We hired a Toyota estate for a day 24hrs to explore the island and get to over night accommodation. On our way back to the ferry the car stopped - and we found the front driver’s side tyre totally flat. We changed for the spare which wasn’t well pumped up and limped it to the ferry terminal - we were unsure if it would actually make it - so scary. The tyre was threadbare see picture and could have been lethal, especially on the thin windy roads of the Lofoten Islands. We were so upset we didn’t ask for a refund - just wanted to get out of the yard and off the island. I have no problem renting an older vehicle but it must be well maintained - I had my 3 children in the car. It is unacceptable to rent a vehicle out in an undriveable condition. Please beware. We wouldn’t rent from this outfit again.
Car rental place just outside the ferry terminal from/to Bodø. Very easy communication via text messages, car was ready for us on arrival and super fast checkin/checkout.
This car was a tank. Worked great through all the snow and pissing rain we had. The owner was easy to work with, gave us a map, and let us use the keybox for return. Our trip was made complete by the dope CD left inside don't expect any radio stations. I would rent here again
