Eben was founded in 2013 by Norwegian designer Elisabeth Benonisen. After working with designer Giles Deacon in London, her roots lured her back to her hometown Bodø, where the brand is based.

Eben evolved from the idea of using material connected to the region, and developing sustainable premium accessories that also tell a story of life in the North. This led to handbags and accessories, where the choice of using fish leather is a sustainable and exotic option.

Eben offers an edited selection of bags that are both versatile and timeless. Instead of basing the collections strictly on seasons that will eventually expire, new designs and colours are gradually added in an organic manner.
