Beautiful Tørvis! This hotel is experiencing a regeneration, from the restaurant to guest excursions. The breakfast was plentiful, delicious and there was a wide choice of options. The rooms were spotless, if a little empty and probably need a hairdryer and soap for the shower. Dinner was exceptional and will definitely make this hotel a culinary destination. The staff were warm, informative and eager to please and was totally charmed being told about the history of the hotel as I was stood in the reception waiting for family. The grounds are stunning and small touches like complimentary coffee in reception makes the experience that bit sweeter. Looking forward to return!
This hotel is excellent. Think classy outdoors person who wants to enjoy proximity to amazing fjord views without sacrificing quality of hospitality, interesting architecture, delicious food, and decor that suits this all perfectly. My partner and I attended a wedding weekend here, enjoyed the feast of a reception and morning buffet, rested well in the neat and comfortable rooms, and loved the balcony view.
Fantastisk sted! Bodde her i forbindelse med en jobbreise. Norges nest eldste hotell fikk jeg vite. Hotellet er som et eventyr/museum fra en svunnen tid, med spennende utstillinger av malerier og gamle ting. Står til og med en bjørn i resepsjonen! Samtidig som rommene er topp moderne. Seng, pute/dyne var meget komfortabel, badet i marmor. Alt virket velholdt. Meget hyggelig og imøtekommende betjening. Beste hotellfrokost jeg har spist. Kan nevne valg mellom 3 typer tilberedt egg, laksepålegg, og brieost som mine favoritter, som jeg ikke har sett noe annet sted. Flott spisesal, der de i tillegg hadde en større sal ved siden av frokostsalen med lysekroner i gammel stil. Vi jobbet natt, og kom tilbake kl 04. Vær obs på at hotellet låser dørene om natten, og at romnøkkel ikke passer låsen. Vi fant en åpen inngang i kjeller via rekreasjonsrommet, som ledet oss inn igjen i hotellet.
Very kind service! The restaurant has many charming elements. The dagens suppe, chicken and vegetables soup saved my stomach after my hiking nearby. The desert was nice but tooooo sweet for me. We came at lunchtime, those are the only offers we had.
No tv in the room! No coffee maker in the room! Very clean and nice bathroom and shower but only one little shower tube...no shower gel or shower soap or conditioner. The hotel is very peaceful and quite, if you stop taking you can't hear any sound, so if that's what you're looking for then no tv is a plus. Nice view of the fjord from our room.
Hyggelig hotell med sjel for oss som ville ha det rolig og fredelig. I gamle bygninger er det samlet mye historie i form av møbler, bøker, bilder og snurrepiperier. Vi fikk rom i en nyere bygning i bakkant av hovedhuset. Gode senger og fint bad med varmekabler. Det var god mat og meget serviceinnstilte og hyggelige ansatte som hadde tid til en prat. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake hit!
At first it seems to be a really nice hotel, but after you peel away the layers you discower it´s flaws. The location is beautiful the whole area is gorgeous, and the hotel has a really nice atmosphere. But - the rooms are located in a rather dull building behind the old house, it has no newspapers for breakfast which was utterly boring by the way, my room had no TV for unknown reason, the bar could only serve me unmixed spirits - no drinks, and the floor heating in the bathroom was wired to the room card system which means that the floor was ice cold at check in but warm the next morning. So regarding the price, I can barely recommend this place. It has great potential, but the flaws are just to many to justify more than two stars. I visited the place in july 2018.
Loved this hotel!: The food is consistently delicious, and presented by a friendly and lively staff. Very very nice rooms, and with a superbe good location to admire the nature and still be able to go and explore some local highlights like the glacier. The place was calm and perfect for work, a romantic weekend get-away, or to have as a base for some vacations. **After I learned that they have hosted several weddings there, I realized that it is perfect for that!** It really is like a jewel in the middle of an "already beautiful" place. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Sjarmig hotell med nydelig beliggenhet. Personalet var meget imøte kommende og serviceminded; vi måtte opp tidlig og fikk med oss frokostbag med brødskriver, egg, frukt og drikke. Maten anbefales; både lamm og biff var perfekte. Et unikt hotell vert et besøk!Rom: 5/5
Ett hyggelig hotell som ligg i ett fint miljø. Frokosten er bra, og fin spisesal. Resepsjonen er delvis ubemannet, og det kan være ett problem. De ansatte hører ikkje alltid plinget fra klokken. Stod i 15 minutter og ventet, men ingen kom. Ble intet salg da. Anbefaler å anskaffe trådløs klokke som den som har ansvaret for resepsjon bærer på seg.
