Cistercian monastery of Roman Catholic nuns on the island of Tautra in Norway.
We are a small monastery of religious woman. Our life combines various elements:
*strong community life *emphasis also on silence and solitude * work with our hands (as well as our intelligence and creativity) * reading and meditation on Scripture (we call this Lectio Divina) *hospitality to those guests who come *program for volunteers who come from 3 months to a year
Our mission is to serve the Church through a life of prayer and worship, singing the Divine Office seven times a day. We also provide a small retreat house for those who desire a time of spiritual renewal.
We provide for our own living through the production of healthy soaps and cosmetics.
