Historie

This charming hotel with one of the greatest views in Odda was originally built as an elderly home in 1928. You still experience the charme of the villa inspired building. The elderly home was transformed into an Activity Hotel in 05/06 and has a range of hotel rooms and some mixed dormitory rooms with bunk beds.

Our staff are from Odda and the region or with strong connections to the outdoors of the region. We will give you good tips of the area and also have Tour Guides employed that loves the outdoors.

I made a series of errors in my travel to Odda and arrived extremely late the night before my hike. The staff was incredibly kind and went way above and beyond for me to make sure I had a place to stay that night. Great location, it’s right next to the shuttle that takes you to the Trolltunga hike. Great breakfast to kick off your day too.
Very kind & supportive staffs. Amazing breakfast and dinner! Room wasn't best but very cozy. Little too far away from Odda downtown, but walkable distance Trolltunga P2 shuttle stop at near hotel location.Rom: 4/5
I stayed in the Trolltunga Hotel with a few friends the first week in September 2024 3 days and 3 nights. The hotel was situated right up to the banks of the Sandvevatnet lake and it was a very picturesque setting. Even though, it was rainy/foggy, it was the ideal "Norwegian" image in my mind. The room was perfectly fine for my use, though, I don't believe there was an available thermostat for the room which didn't matter. The hotel itself seems to be a converted building/house that wasn't originally intended for a hotel, but it was very quaint and lovely. My only con would be that the hotel is somewhat difficult to get to from Odda bus station if you missed the Skyss bus times as it is an uphill walk that can be difficult with luggage. I would say the true star of the hotel would be the continental breakfast and restaurant. The food at this hotel is pretty amazing. My friends and I ate at the hotel for both breakfast and dinner throughout most of our entire stay and had almost the entire menu. If your visiting Odda to partake in some Norwegian adventures, I highly recommend these accommodations.
The location of this hotel amazing. The view from my room was just perfect opening to a beautiful water lake and from the restaurant sitting area we had view of the streams running. The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. Hotel is like 20min from main bus station and busses run on fixed timings. The room size is pretty standard but overall it was a nice stay. Mat og drikke: They have in house restaurant we were vegetarian so we ordered cheese pizza and salad both were good. Breakfast has limited options but that's mostly there in all European hotels.
We were six people average of age 62.5 years old from Australia to Norway and joined the tour from Trolltunga hotel to hike to Trolltunga , Kevin and Nile as a guide to look after us very well , they told us the local and the points stories during hiking , point the best routing , and care us once we feel tired , and warm welcome with coffee and hot chocolate once arrived the camp, even next day we met windy and raining while we were return , but Nile still tried his best knowledge let us to rest and recovery , so we have a good time and successful finish the routing , great ! High recommend this tour with very nice staff accompany with . Thank you , Steve .
Excellent place to stay when hiking the glaciers, touring waterfalls, or just exploring the fjords. Super friendly staff, nice room, wonderful views during breakfast which is delicious. Loved the roar of the river at night with window open. Makes for great sleep.Rom: 5/5
The petite double rooms are pretty darn small for two people, the bed is a double bed and the comforter is quite hot. The bathroom is nice enough with a compact layout. Besides the bed there's just a kettle, a small desk, and a wall mounted TV in the room. The free breakfast is okay and doesn't seem to get too picked over like mentioned in other reviews. The wifi doesn't reach most if not all of the rooms and is quite slow in areas it does reach. The main area of town is about a mile or 1.5 kilometers walk on a gravel path following the river. Overall the hotel was fine and I don't mind it too much, it all just feels a bit small and low quality for what you pay for.
This cute hotel is underrated. It sits at the juncture of a lake and a fjord - the surroundings are breathtaking and there are plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy it. Our room was clean and a good size. The hotel itself offers a nice breakfast too. A great way to experience small town NorwayRom: 5/5
It’s a nice little hotel. If I could do it again though I would stay somewhere else. It was too expensive for what it was. Great location and great view. The room was too small, like the size of a closet. The bathroom was smelly and was tiny, I mean tiny. Only space for 1 person to stand and the whole bathroom is also the whole shower. The hotel is set up a little weird too. The front is actually the back, and the front desk was also the bar. Wouldn’t normally be a problem but the price was high so I expected more. The breakfast in the morning was nice and they did have stuff to make sandwiches for the day hiking.
Har vært her flere ganger, og alltid like fornøyd. Absolutt fineste stedet i Odda for overnatting. Fine omgivelser, herlig sus fra elven, og alltid veldig hyggelig personale, og da må spesielt Jorunn nevnes. Veldig god mat i restauranten, mye lokale råvarer, og en enkel og bra frokost med fantastisk utsikt. Har bare bodd i den nyeste delen, der er fine og rene rom, og veldig gode senger. Anbefales!:
