Our mission is to be the ONE PLACE to go when you are looking for information about windfoiling.​

You may be windfoiling already, or just want to check out what is happening around foiling. Either way, the most important is that you show interest for the fantastic new windsurf discipline, windfoiling.

​My Name is Romain and in 2017, I was sick of searching forums and a million websites just to find reviews on windfoils that I was interested in. There are small pieces of informations on multiple sites, but unfortunately, most people do not have time to search each website to find relevant information.
​
​This is where WINDFOIL ZONE comes in:
I realised that it would have been great to have a website gathering all information in one place: products, news, videos, and building a community of windfoiler around it.

Today, we are proud to say that WINDFOIL ZONE website offer
the most complete dedicated to windfoil (if not the only one).

​
We believe that finding a foil that fits your windsurf style may be hard, as there are so many brands offering windfoils on the market.

That is the reason why we started this blog / resource to help you out in the foil-jungle, sharing producer’s description, reviews from different sources and interviews and tips from professionals in the industry.

My passion for foil windsurfing started almost 15 years ago. Foil technology was known, and embodied by Laird Hamilton riding Jaws on his surf-foil, but there was generally low interest around it. Only a few people saw any future in windfoiling, due to the high cost and complexity.

My brother, however, was fascinated by composite materials, and started to experiment on a foil project on his own. Windfoil has therefore been top of mind for a long time.​

Fortunately, some brands continue to make some more research, and launched prototypes of the new generation of windfoils a few years ago. This gave a new boost in the foil-mania.
​
The reason for the success this time was due to several factors:
- Lighter windsurf equipment
- The lower costs of composite materials
- The lower manufactural costs.
- The growing popularity of kitefoiling

​Things are now evolving quickly. The popularity of kitefoiling is a proof of concept for windfoiling, and the big windsurfing brands do not hesitate to invest in R&D. They really believe that this concept may be a new birth for windsurfing, which has been constantly declining since 2000.
​
​The positive thing for us consumers is that new windfoils are constantly entering the market, and prices are getting accessible to everyone, especially with foils in stainless steel or alloy foils.
​​
​At the same time, most windsurfers are curious about the new dimension of windsurfing and search the web for information. WINDFOIL ZONE is hopefully a great resource for that purpose.​

​The purpose of Windfoil Zone is thus to give you all information you need to start foil windsurfing. Which product to choose, how to learn windfoiling, tips and tricks from professionals, windfoil prices, windfoil reviews, etc…
