Arild's Vineyard

A really nice place that allows you to be a part of the harvest and gives you a lot of information regarding how to have a vineyard in the south of Sweden. The owner and his wife are very enthusiastic about their concept and they produce some tasty wines.

We arrived there while trekking in the area. Nice scenery and really tasty wines. The problem is staff without knowledge what they are serving, lost with prices when we asked what is their offer of wine we were given menu to check, when with second order asked for small options they didn't know which glass to use, used big one and asked for higher price lack of friendliness at invitation or at the end of visit. They had even problems with opening bottle of wine. Sad as impression would be doubled in positive vibes but feeling was like if we are there or not - who cares!

Very nice place but needs better management to make the most of it. Great menu and interesting wines, the Orange and sparkling wines were particularly good. Where it can improve dramatically, and you would think quite easily is to improve the staff training. It’s a vineyard and non of the staff knew anything about the wine. Once you got there attention and ordered they served them in a glass, no showing of the bottle ir explanation of the wine. When we asked for some bread to go with one of the courses they served it only seemed to be given as an extreme favour. The staff were not particularly open or friendly as a whole Shame a lot of investment that has created an amazing place spoilt by a lack of imagination and attention to detail.

We really enjoyed the sweet wine with bubbles and the excellent and fresh food. The vineyards are beautiful as well. Highly recommended.

The wine is fantastic, loved the short vineyard tour and I think these guys are doing everything right when it comes to the wine.nnThe hotel experience is bad to mediocre, I understand it's difficult to make something nice in a 200 year old building, but the rooms are just not very nice to sleep in. No AC expected but also practically no ventilation. We had around 35C in the room and could not sleep.nYou get a pair of ear protectors which are needed because the walls are paper thin.nnThe restaurant is a disaster.nI get that they are trying to do a good thing and employ the local kids, but there is no experienced supervision, so service is non existent.nHalf the evening we sat around with empty glasses because no-one was around to serve us more. The owners probably loose a lot of money because of this, as we were hardly alone with empty glasses.nThe kitchen is tardy, we waited about an hour between each dish with empty glasses, the food was uninspiring and tasteless.nThe highlight is of course the drinks - great wine, excellent grappa, very interesting whiskey and a good assortment of beer - but since the service was so bad, we could not get enough redemption.nnI would love to give this place five stars, but the service is miles away from that. This level is not enough in 2020, and I hope the owners read this and take it to heart.
