Bergshotellet

Järvsö i great for outdoor activities and the hotel is rightnin the middle of the action . Ski in ski out literally. Everything is good. Nice room excellent location good breakfast and a small activity room for kids. Staff is really hospitable also. Will definitely return if we go to Järvsö again.

When I write this review at the end of our long road trip around the north of Scandinavia from Switzerland, the Bergshotellet is by far the worst hotel of the 20 we lived through over the 20 days we traveled. A grey cube with balconies suspended on its four sides, partly populated by overweight, half naked beer drinking men, accessible via a dirt-road only and overlooking a ski-slope which in summer time is not really esthetic. All rooms appear to be designed to accommodate a family of four in winter and you are charged the same if you travel as single or as a couple. Service is close to non existing and many little things that makes life easier are missing in the rooms. Breakfast is of the standard Swedish hotel type with industrial products. I tried their shrimp sandwich for dinner, with soggy shrimps not having been dried after having been taken out of their juice and sold at an exorbitant price like their local beer. Overall, a place to avoid.

We recently visited Järvsöbacken in Sweden with my family and had an outstanding experience! We stayed at Bergshotellet which is located just by the lifts. The staff, particularly those working by the lifts and at the ski/snowboard school, were incredibly cheerful and kind. Their positive attitude made our time on the slopes truly enjoyable. The resort is highly recommended for families as it was quite calm when we were there – we were two adults and an 11-year-old, and the entire team ensured we had a fantastic stay. We're already planning to return next year! Also, the breakfast buffet at the hotel was delightful. Overall, Järvsöbacken exceeded our expectations, thanks to its welcoming atmosphere and fantastic staff. Five stars without a doubt!

The kitchen is modern Scandinavian in a positive way, the service also so, but in a negative way, the gap towards good and mature establishments was evident in many ways, low flexibility, wrong food, slow serving, had to ask for menu's, water, cutlery and what not. And a three course dinner with drinks ends up close to 1000 SEK €100 per person.

Ski in, ski out hotel in Järvsö. Perfect location and wonderful view over the slopes from the balcony. Would definitely stay again.nnService was really good and catered to our special requests.
