There is almost nothing visible left of the construction but information in the signs is interesting. About 700 m long very beautiful path leads here along the Brömsebäck from the parking.
I was looking for a nice place to walk but the paths were full of ticks. the location of the castle ruins is wrong and difficult to find. I do not recommend visiting the roads are muddy
Nice little hike of about 40 minutes there and back. It was a bit difficult to find the parking lot and where the path started. But if you drive past the peace stone you will find it!
A historically significant place, a defensible castle was built here in 1361-1365 Valdemar Atterdag? The castle was first mentioned in 1366 and was important to the Danes. The first castle was destroyed in 1436. Today, no remains are visible, only a large open area on the hill with a view of Kalmar Sound, the southern tip of Öland and Kalmar Castle. This was probably surrounded by moats and consisted of a wooden palisade, with stone or wooden towers.
Very historic and interesting! Even the route there is full of natural beauty. Finally, on the square, you are immersed in Sweden's past with Denmark.
