Byxan Bistro

Nice location but the food is average at best and overpriced. Poor service. Some dishes were not available … the explanation given was that it was Monday and the week-end was busy.

We gave it another go this year after last year's disappointment but we were just as disappointed this year. We called and booked a table and specified a special diet. We were informed which dishes could be customized. When we get to the restaurant, they have run out of gluten-free bread, even though we notified them in advance, so nothing could be adjusted. There was no starter for anyone in the party because of this. Last year it was the same, no gluten free option at all that time other than pizza. This year it was steak minute, but the meat was so well fried that it was completely dry, no mini frying there, that was clear. Should have been expected in a road pub but not in a restaurant with those prices. The staff could not handle the criticisms we made. It's a shame because they have invested in interior design and the location is good, but now we won't try again, unfortunately.

Can say that I have never experienced a worse restaurant visit, everything was a disaster! inexperienced and careless staff, service etc. When we come in, we have to take menus and tables ourselves it was basically empty. When we decide what to have, the staff doesn't even come and take our order, instead we are completely ignored and have to sit and wait for 30 minutes until we ourselves can say that we want to order. We are then promised immediate assistance but have to wait another 15 minutes. I would also like to note that at this time it was quiet and there were plenty of staff! The waiter who takes our order was incredibly rude and unprofessional, didn't take notes and had to come back several times and double check what we ordered! After this, people start pouring in and the restaurant is full. Can say that there were more tables without than with food and finally the group that arrived a good while after us got their order. We had to wait for 85 minutes until we gave up and everyone in the restaurant got their food except us. We and other parties get annoyed and tell the staff but get 0 response more than that they are a lot of people at once, but we arrived at the restaurant when there were MAX 2 other parties there. Finally, one of our party calls out and the waiter checks what happened to our food. From his expressions and gestures, we noticed quite quickly that he had forgotten our order. When he is about to approach us, he turns around as if he didn't dare to talk to us, they resulted in us leaving, no dispensation or anything, 85 minutes wasted! Nice to see that the old Marina has had a major facelift and new driven, talented owners. The pizzas were fantastic and the place has a lovely atmosphere with a fantastic sea view over Byxelkrok's marina. Super nice staff. Highly recommended if you visit Byxelkrok!

Very good food and we have taken different dishes, three courses each of us. Very good service but far too few people. Could be because it's a bit out of the way and doesn't attract as well
