Fjärås kyrka

Approaching from the north, this church is a stunning sight as it dominates the rural landscape, perched high above the surrounding fields. Though I have passed it many times, I finally decided to step inside.nnThe experience was well worth it. There is convenient parking close by, and the interior is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. I really enjoyed walking through and taking a quiet tour of the grounds. If you are in the area, it is definitely a place worth visiting.

The church of Fjärås has roots from the 14th century. It predates even Gustav Vasa. It was built while county of Halland still was under Danish ruling. It has a rather unique placement, placed rather elevated above the Fjärås area. It is rather sparsed decorated inside, but the few things inside are worth a visit. Also, the look and the sound from the organ is impressive.

Fjärås Church is located in Kungsbacka municipality. The oldest parts of the magnificent white church building date from the 12th-13th centuries. The church is surrounded by a cemetery and on the opposite side of Rossaredsvägen is the parish hall and a large parking lot. In the flowerbed outside the parish hall is a small Madonna figure.
