Great food in an unexpected location. Family run, and also family ambiance at its best. Frequented by locals, which is a good sign.nL'hôte parle aussi français!

We came here late in the evening and the kitchen was already closed.nBUT they were so friendly actually as friendly as family, so they cooked for us fresh pasta!!nIt was absolutely brilliant and so tasteful!nThe best and most friendly people we have met in Sweden!nI would recommend it to everyone.

In May 2016, I was an exchange student at Lund and decided to visit ales stenar by bus but was trapped in the area as the bus back never arrived in the evening. Not knowing what to do, I visited this cafe and was deeply touched by the kindness this old couple had showered me. Despite conversing in limited English, they went through all sorts of trouble making calls to Skånetrafiken and friends to figure out my situation. Knowing I might be hungry, they warmly served me absolutely delicious food - roasted meat, baked potatoes and salad - and didn't ask me to pay I still did anyway. I sat for hours in their cafe until a special van came to pick me up at 10pm. It was one of the best memories of summer last year and I often wonder how they're doing! If anyone sees this and is thinking of visiting them, please let them know that I am very thankful for their generosity and will never forget that evening!

Family-run business with excellent specialties! The lamb stew with just the perfect hint of lemon was delicious. The fish stew was superb- slightly creamy, not too much to where you feel gross, but just enough to soften the taste.nnThe owners are lovely people, and after speaking with them we learned that they are new to restaurant ownership, though she had been a caterer in the past- hence the quality food! And the bread - the bread!! Fresh and homemade, we ate far too much of it!nnIt was the relaxing, small-town experience in a charming setting that we were looking for!

No fine dining but absolutely decent food, served with warmth by the devoted family that owns the place!
