A very well-preserved piece of classic Halland nature. The heather heaths were once one of Halland's most typical features - and today Mästocka heath heath is one of the few large areas left. A wonderfully beautiful hillside landscape that really shines in purple when the heather is in bloom. A little earlier in the summer, the slopes instead glow in yellow through Halland's threatened landscape flower, the hair sparkle. In general, the area has a fantastically rich plant life with many unusual species - which in turn also provides a great wealth of butterflies and bees. In addition, there are plenty of lingonberries to pick and munch on during the summer hike - and large boulders from the Ice Age to look at for those interested in geology. For those who like swimming, the nice swimming lake Björsjön is also passed along the circular hiking trail - and there are many nice views of the lake from benches and coffee spots along the trail. Through information boards along the trail, you also get plenty of interesting knowledge about the various places you pass on your hike.
Always cozy with a walk on and around Mästocka Ljunghed. Nice all year round, but best when the heather blooms most in August-September. Extra nice at sunset. Cozy to walk around the lake with, nice swimming area too.
Don't fear the gray weather. It feels natural to go to the Mästocka heath to view the flowering gorse or, later in the summer, when the heather blooms. When autumn starts to turn grey, and perhaps a bit wet, it is perhaps harder to understand why you should go here. Once here, the doubt disappears. The sparrow crow calls in the distance, a few grebes take a leave of the small lake and it is quiet and peaceful.
Easier hill up to the top. Certainly nice when it blooms purple, but now it's overbloomed. Sometimes cattle on the heath that don't like loose dogs!
Good footpaths and footpaths. Nice round with beautiful scenery.
