Really enjoyed our trip here and the price is amazing for what you get. There is a castle museum, an art gallery, a reptile house, and an aquarium for one price ~£7.50. And if you get the combined ticket you also get access to the equally good science and technology centre a hundred meters down the road, which I also recommend. A lot of the writing is translated to English though not in the history section which seemed to largely be in only Swedish which is fine obviously, but just for awareness. Well worth a visit if you’re in the city!
Hey everyone...An interesting medieval castle, but rather its history... it is included among the oldest renaissance castles in the north... one monarch expanded it, the other transformed it into a fortress and finally this place was also a prison... I would say quite a rich historical place...
It’s a great place to visit for historical pictures and information about Mälmo’s independence from Denmark.nThere is art and science museum as well in it.nThis castle is well preserved and rhe surroundings are beautiful.nThere are swans in the water around the castle.nThere are exhibits inside that shows the kings room, staff areas and their costumes as well as cannons.nOverall great place to visit from historic viewpoint.
Easy to spend hours reading and wandering through the museum! So much history! Absolutely loved it!
Located together with the Malmo Museum, Malmo Castle offers a glimpse into the city's history throughout the ages. It was informative to learn about how the city was acquired by Sweden from Denmark, and how the castle served as a prison and refuge. Expect to spend at least 2 to 3 hours here, if you're thorough. The history of the castle only forms a small part of the entire place, as the Malmo Museum also consists of different exhibits such as an art gallery, animal Museum and natural history Museum.
