The commemorative stone was erected in 1811 by the local crown countyman and rust holder Lars Larsson Dufva after Sweden's future crown prince and later king Jean Baptiste Bernadotte during the reign of Carl the XIII passed here on his way to Stockholm. The first of the Bernadotte family. Jean Baptiste Bernadotte took a break from traveling here and visited Lars and Christina Dufva at their home. The text of the Marklunda Stone reads.During the reign of Carl the XIII when the Swedish Crown Prince Carl Johan wid his first trip through Sweden saw Marklunda Rusthåll for the first time on 24 Oct. In 1810, he stopped at a Swedish Carbinier's residence and entered there, impatient to get to know even the ringer's status among new brothers in arms. The memory of this noble condescending seal with the great of the earth, not with Bernadotte, hero and friend of man, Sweden's hope, France's honor, is preserved by this stone erected by the local Crown County man Rusthållaren Lars L Dufva Year 1811.
I live right next door. Nice historical mark, but mostly in the way when driving.
Cool that it's in the middle of the street! Interesting with history!
