Nora kyrka, Uppland

A big, beautiful church with a big and beautiful cemetery. Rather hidden away but certainly worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.

As a Christian, it's hard to rate a church because Jesus is in there, but I still want to emphasize that Nora Congregation is probably one of the most alive, educational, inspiring congregations I've sung in. I've been singing for many years as a choir singer sometimes in Catholic churches but mostly in the Swedish church and Nora may be a sparsely populated area but one thing is certain the choir maintains an unheard of high level. And I have seen that since 2017 when I moved there.nBoth as a churchgoer but now more recently as a choir member. Many praised Nora's church choir's 100th anniversary and the accompanying jubilee concert, as something truly fantastic. It has been said that some just wanted to close their eyes and enjoy the beautiful music.nFour-part choir is a high ambition and very advanced. The pedagogical care of this choir, the management of the rehearsal work, the safety in all the arrangements of the songs/works we performed at the anniversary is unparalleled.nOne of the most balanced choirs I've sung in. Both vocally and musically humble, I experienced something divine in the alto part. Yes Magical.nGod bless Nora Church and Nora Congregation and all who continue to make the Spiritual Village a beautiful, well-formed and tasteful place to live and develop.

Beautiful church in Tärnsjö, and starting point for stages along the Upplandsleden. Plenty of parking spaces, so it's perfect to start here regardless of whether you're aiming north towards Skekarbo and the bird tower there or southwest towards Östa and Ingbo springs. Both routes are well worth spending a day hiking on.
