There was a report to the patient committee. We get a call in the morning and they cancel our appointment because the staff is sick. That's understandable. But the person calling doesn't want/can't reschedule us, doesn't know why. doesn't even want to listen to what days are suitable, etc. A week goes by without any new bookings being made. We finally hear from them and THEN we get a new appointment a month later for our son, whose vision is developing/deteriorating rapidly. There are only 2, two, opticians working there. Imagine a UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL, which has such a large catchment area, only has 2 opticians. It's astonishing. And when you understand that the business is already on its knees, the person calling and canceling is one of the most unmotivated and ineffective employees I've spoken to on the phone. There is a lot of development/dissolution potential in this business.

What a crappy phone system they have. I called them a thousand times for 2 days from 7:45 for a few hours. No help. No one even answers. They have a button dial and that doesn't help if you want to talk to a person. I've tried calling their scheduler 10 times now and get voice messages saying no answer and welcome back. How can you get help with this damn system you have.... Finally someone answered with a rude attitude and said it was really stupid that I called this number. I got that number from her colleague. She didn't listen clearly and thought the matter wasn't urgent.

I quickly got an appointment booked, but unfortunately the communication felt very stiff and without understanding our situation. As a parent of children with special needs, it is important to have a friendly and empathetic approach, not just a short standard line. It makes a big difference for us parents when we are listened to. I am actually sorry
