Such wonderful kind service and amazing smörrebröd. Such a cute and cozy location. 100% going back every time I’m in town. Next time my family comes to visit Sweden I shall take them here.
We spent a couple of days in Mariefred and were delighted that we found Rakstugan for dinner on the second night. The venue is small and charming but also well-lit and modern while never feeling cramped at all.nnThe expectation is that each person will order a couple of smaller dishes Tapas style and each dish comes out at around 120 SEK. We took 2 main dishes of food each and a side of fried potatoes and it was perfect for a good sized dinner. There were a couple of vegetarian dishes on top of the starters which meant even as a vegetarian you could have the tapas-like-experience.nnOther than that, the service was friendly and polite, there was a good selection of beer to enjoy and we overall just had a great time eating here.
This is not a normal restaurant. It is more of a tapas restaurant. My wife and I ordered two items each, which was plenty for us. I had the fried haloumi and the chicken dish. My wife had the beef dish and roast beef dish. Prices are about $10-$13 per dish, so overall fairly reasonable if you just do 2 dishes. All of our dishes were excellent. It is a small restaurant with limited seating. Rather rustic setting. Make sure you have a reservation in advance, which you can make online using Google EasyBooking.
We had Stugans Rakmacka shrimp sandwich, asian salmon pasta salad and beef steak with mashed potatoes, and pancakes for dessert. Very tasty dishes, great beer and cozy vibes. Very much recommended, can’t wait to return.
Small old barber shop. Nice garden. Good Swedish tapas type food
