I recently stopped at Sonja’s for lunch and had the best chicken, Cesar salad of my life! The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The restaurant could not have been any cuter, like a scene from a movie, and the food and desserts were absolutely out of this world!!nIf you find yourself traveling through Sweden, make sure you take a stop through Sonja’s! My only regret is that I will dream of the cesar salad until I make my way back again!
Very cozy place! It was packed with people but not too loud. Having the eating areas in different rooms was really great as it made it easy to have conversations. I really recommend booking a table though, to ensure that you get a table. The food was great. Some of the salad choices for the buffet was a bit weird but still delicious.
Cesar salad was really good taste and big size. Athmosphere was really cozy and many separate dining rooms was furnished really nicely. Strong recommendation to have a lunch here. Very popular. Great place
It was pure pleasure to eat lunch here! Very fresh and good food, lots of vegetables and an adorable atmosphere made this an unforgettable experience. We could feel that the owners and staff do their work with passion. In every detail of the cosy house you can see that someone made her/his dream come true! Not only with regard to the decorating but even every bite was tasteful.nParents of young children, there’s a little playroom upstairs, do not miss it ;-
Stepping into Sonja Veranda felt like stepping into a time machine, one that brought me straight into my great-grandmother’s kitchen—rustic, warm, and filled with charm. The decor, from the vintage crockery to the cosy ambience, matched the vibe of the place perfectly, giving it an authentic, old-world feel.nThe coffee was a revelation. Swedish coffee has a reputation to uphold, and Sonja Veranda delivered—rich, smooth, and utterly delightful. It was so good that it restored my faith in the art of fika.nnThe sandwiches were another highlight. The shrimp sandwich was absolutely stellar—bursting with flavour and generously topped with shrimp. Each bite was a reminder of why Swedish open-faced sandwiches are so celebrated. Though I thoroughly enjoyed it, I found myself eyeing the meatballs and other classic offerings. They’re on my list for next time, and yes, there will be a next time.nnWhile the food and atmosphere were exceptional, the staff lineup was... well, let’s just say it was a monochrome parade of women no blokes. Perhaps the kitchen could borrow a sprinkle of the diversity seen in their dishes? But maybe it just the town it's in. Back in timennAll in all, Sonja Veranda is a delightful spot that captures the heart of Swedish tradition, both in taste and style. Can’t wait to return.
