after the disappointment of finding out our flight to poland was leaving from this airport which is like 100km from stockholm we booked a flixbus late at night to get there. the bus dropped us in the middle of nowhere around midnight and we started walking towards the small deserted airport. once we reached the entrance we quickly realized that it was closed. another polish girl approached us looking also for the entrance. we came to the conclusion that the airport closes at night, from midnight until 4 am to be precise. despite being summer, it started feeling cold and unsafe. we wondered around for a bit until luckily the lady at the bar of the hotel let us stay in the hotel lobby for the night. at 4 am we went to the entrance of the airport and we still had to wait like 20 minutes for it to finally open. inside the airport was actually nice, clean bathrooms and places to charge your phone.ndespite this, the airport doesn’t deserve more than one star:n1 its name is deceiving people. why is it called “stockholm” despite being 100 km from the city in a remote area in the middle of nowhere.n2 the airport shouldn’t close. i payed my flight something like 20€ and then i am forced to either freeze to death or pay a hotel room which will probably be more expensive than the flight…the airport should stay open at night!n3 is it really necessary to open an airport just to have two flights per day…can’t these two flights just leave from arlanda?

Small airport, closes before midnight and opens at 0500hrs. If you are going to Nyköping or Stockholm Central Station Flixbus or Flygburssana are two good options. The bathrooms are clean. There are functional ATM machines close to the exits. Please note the security checks can take some time. Feel free to try some fresh snacks or hot coffee whilst waiting.

This small airport is easy to navigate, clean and compact. The minuses are limited transportation to city centre both Nyköping and Stockholm, accommodation was merely Connect Skavsta Hotel. Need to consider for further development if there’s a plan for being an LCC hub

1st airport for me where there’s only 1 destination and 1 airplane for the day. It was nice.nn1st airport in Europe for me where a black man is among the document controller which is also nice.nn1st airport for me where many of the alcohol there can’t be bought depending on your destinationnnSuper clean airport including the toilets . You can find a direct bus from the train station of Skavsta to the airport versa versa. Or even direct bus from the airport to Stockholm city .nnStaff were very friendly. And document control was really fast that we departed 20mins before time which is really nice.nnIt was an interesting airport experience for us!

I arrived to Skavsta from Arlanda at 1 a.m. on a shuttle bus, check-in was not scheduled to start until 6 a.m., but the airport was closed and there was nowhere to sleep!nIt was the end of August, although the temperature at night was only +12. If I had flown in winter, I probably would have frozen to death! I had to walk in circles to stay warm. I was lucky, I went into a building in the parking lot, found a cardboard, put it under the stairs and slept there until morning.nThe airport opened at 5am and I decided to have breakfast, but the cafe opened at 6am and only for those who had checked in for their flight. While waiting to check in, I fell asleep and checked in last, so I had no time for breakfast. I cursed this idiotic airport where you can die of cold and hunger!
