Having previously used this airport without problems my recent Journey to and from Stansted was to say the least a long winded affair. On arrival we disembarked the plane but we're held outside in the rain for 20 minutes. When we were allowed into the building it took a further hour for everyone to clear passport control. Due to there being only 2 officers on duty and a large proportion with UK passports. On my return to the UK I found out why we were held outside. Passengers on the outbound journey, myself in this case were checked out first and then the same 2 people checked everyone into Sweden. There was approximately 25 minutes before they finished that task hence the delay coming in. Does anyone know why this is because previously everything went smoothly
The worst airport I've ever used. Same problems everyone has been complaining about for years and nothing is being done to change them.nRude and hostile passport control staff. Everyone squashed in a tiny room before departure,nArrival's made to stand outside in the cold for an hour.nHow has nobody decided to improve these problems after more than 3 years of complaints?
Passport control are either deliberately slow or require further training.nIf you're unlucky enough to get off last from the plane you'll probably miss the bus into town. The worst passport control of any airport I've ever been to perhaps with the exception of American airports, who clearly train their passport control staff the same way.nDepartures does not have sufficient seating or toilets so arrive early and perform ablutions prior to arrival.
Looks nice and is nice and small but to drop off a rental car, they only mark spots for Europcar and Mabi and expect you to just use one of their spots for any other rental company.nWe went on a wild goose chase confirming that that was the right place to park.
Quick to get through because it's so small. Waiting lounge is to small for a 737 load of passengers so have to stand no good with delayed flight. No food past security - again, no good with delayed flights. Staff are friendly and it's convenient if you want Central Sweden. It is not Stockholm.
