Pioneering small batch chocolate making in Sweden
Early on we felt a responsibility and saw a possibility. A possibility to inspire and change the way a lot of people think about chocolate, and a responsibility to provide chocolate with better ingredients made in cooperation with farmers and producers that share our outlook on quality and sustainability.
By handcrafting chocolate in this way we focus on the unique characteristics of the cacao beans. Just like wine grapes or coffee beans, we get notes, unique flavors and scents that are otherwise lost when not handled with care and respect to the process. By making small batches we can steer the process in detail and ensure that every batch reaches its maximum flavor potential.
Buying our cacao beans directly from the farmer is a win-win. The farmers and the cooperative get fair pay for their crops and can continue their work and organic farming. We get good quality beans and we get to share a fantastic product with our customers that can be traced directly to a single origin. Sometimes even a single farmer.
