Vadstena Castle

Not only was this castle beautifully renovated into its Renaissance past, it had displays in English as well as Swedish and German.nnPerhaps the best part was the man who sold us our tickets. He was SO HELPFUL to us. We had been given a parking ticket in another town, and being from USA we were having a very hard time trying to figure out the process of what we had done wrong and hope to contact the ticking company. He was able to help us and answer questions about how to avoid them in the future. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this man. He was great.

Beautiful piece of history. I really like this place and I loved walking around city centre as well and seeing the area around the Castle. Although I did not go in the castle but I would say that the whole nearby area and the lake were quite beautiful as well. Plus, there is a nearby pizza place, great pizza.

Very nice to wander around- we didn’t go inside, no idea if you can.nWe came for the Vetternrönda and slept nearby . It’s very beautifully set at the lake

The biggest surprise of road trip around Öster Götaland . Very underrated location which even not many Swedes know, but it’s so worth visiting. It went on a guided tour which was also ok. I recommend to book ticket in 1-2day advance because they were already sold out on the morning of the day I visited the castle.

Amazing history treasure! Old castle in Vadstena definitely highly recommended for visit not only history lovers, but all kinds of tourists, families with kids..... every one will find here something to enjoy! History, nature, medieval architecture..... definitely must see place!
