Really enjoyable meal. The house white wine was amazing. The bread service was salty and delicious. A minor detail- but the water pitcher came with ice. I got the salmon, which was tasty. And everyone else enjoyed their meals. The blueberry tart with ice cream was fresh and well made. Friends got the brown cheese ice cream, which they enjoyed. The location was nice. Highly recommended.

found this place by a simple google search and walked over from our hotel. almost did not get to try it out because they had so many reservations. but luckily, we were able to sit and eat. It it 100% worth trying, so make the reservation after reading this! the food was delicious and the presentation was perfect. the brown cheese ice cream was a perfect ending to a fantastic meal! we did the 5 Course option, worth the price!
Bergen’s most beloved dish is a variation of fish soup or chowder flavored to be a bit sweet and sour. We had a nice casual dinner in a historical restaurant with roots going back to the 1300’s in a building restored to resemble how it looked in the 1700’s. Our server was working there over 20 years. Besides the soup, we were also quite enamored w the smoked whale carpaccio and the local Salmon and Halibut caught that morning just a few meters away from us. And the Norwegian brown cheese ice cream was a delightful ending. #thefoodietraveler
Make reservations, it's a busy place. We called the night before and was able to book an 8pm reservation on a Friday. The whale carpaccio is very interesting, a nice smokey flavor. The fish soup is excellent, and so was the angular fish. The cheese ice cream is a must-have! The decor feels like we're in a refurbished ship. The staff was friendly. We enjoyed our dinner very much.
What a wonderful place to eat food when in Bergen. I would like to commend the wonderful people who works here, they are very nice and accomodating, open for conversations. The restaurant has an amazing interior and the food were scrumptious, i had the tasting menu and it was amazing. Try the brown cheese ice cream for dessert, it is highly recommended :
Simply divine food served by very lovely waiters who looked after us.Mat: 5/5
I would say an almost unmissable dining experience in Bergen. Set in a beautiful historical building along the famous waterfront, siting inside is an experience in itself. The service was excellent, attentive and breaks between courses. The fish soup, fried catfish and fish duo I can personally recommend. Then for dessert there is only one choice, the brown cheese ice cream. Our waiter Frank, who again was excellent the whole time strongly recommended it to us and I was so wrong to initially doubt him, it is truly delicious
This restaurant is a real unicorn. Amazingly fresh seafood, excellent service. The server even let us try out wines before choosing. If you are in Bergen, you should try this place. Look for Knut - he works on Saturdays and provides excellent service and recommendations. Enjoy the photos.
Fantastic fish restaurant in the oldest houses of Bergen which have seen multiple fires along their long history. We arrived on a weekend without booking and were lucky to get a table. All the fish dishes we had were delicious and easy to eat even for non-fish-lovers. The fried turbot with the butter sauce was a treat and the scallops for starters for majestic. Very friendly staff and quick service, we would highly recommend. Spent 1400 NOK 100£ for two with beers. I thought the location and decoration of the restaurant gives a lot of charm: the floor is uneven, located on the first floor of a wooden house, full of ancient paintings inside.
