Must see this park and take ti.e looking at all the statues and sculptures. Quite a lot deal with separation and death as part of the human condition, especially the reliefs around the base of the fountain, so possibly be prepared for questions if you have small inquisitive children. Beautiful views and of course the famous angry toddler bronze on the bridge.
1 artists sculptures beautifully placed and spaced out throughout the large park. Intricate, detailed, and yet all of similar style, the sculptures vary in size. A wonderful park for a leisurely walk or long run. Spent about an hour roaming the grounds and easily could have stayed longer.
A place that you cannot miss if you are in Oslo. It is easy to access the site through urban buses. The park is quite large which offers many opportunities and the statues are very beautiful
Flotte omgivelser.
Lovely sculpture garden! We had a tour guide who was fantastic. The weather really did help the experience it was warm and sunny! One of the main structures was under construction which did kind of look out of place but needs must! It’s a lovely place to walk around! Worth a visit
Frogner Park is home to Gustav Vigeland's absolutely beautiful collection of human-figure sculptures posed both in realistic and abstract manner throughout the lush green park, representing age groups that span the entirety of the life cycle. They tell his life story as well as humankind's. An extraordinary stop whether you're an art lover or general tourist -- and don't miss his iron-work gates at the bottom of the hill!
This place was amazing. The sculptures are well worth your time, especially the totem which is probably the best piece of art I have ever seen. I can't recommend this more highly
It was really nice experience. There are a lot of statues and sculptures. We went in the evenings but still there is good visibility and we were amazed by the talents of artists. Entrance is free and it is connected by bus and tram lines so you can easily get there from Oslo. Also there is a nearby car parking.
Amazing place. An absolute must of visiting Oslo. Sculptures are incredible and set in beautiful and relaxing parkland.
Beautiful public space as a park and a a sculpture garden. We had a beautiful spring day but given a more typical Norwegian day with lots of rain, this wouldn't be nearly as much fun, so watch the weather forcast when you plan your visits. And the park has a gazillion stairsteps to take visitors to different levels for different installations. In most areas there weren't obvious ramps for wheelchair or walker access. The sculptures were really fantastic. I came away with several "favorites", but the two women from his home village were really special. We had a wonderful guide who knew all the backstories and really added to the visit. It would have been better had we found a book with images of the works to read ahead and plan ahead. But this was a wonderful place. UPDATE: All of the statues of people are nudes showing "everything" . The sculptor opted not to show them clothed because clothing would date them. Nude, they are timeless. But Google killed the original post for explicit sexual content. My first rejected post in 880 reviews.
