Jic is a Sports brand owned solely by Jic Sports International who are private company with many years experience in manufacture and distribution of sports and games equipment.

After making Rugby, Football, Netball, Handball, Volleyball, American Football, Aussie Rules Football, Tennis, Cricket and Hockey unbranded and also for other well known brands for over half a century it was decided that Jic would be used as a brand name, with the aim to make it one of the leading brands around the world.

In 1988 the first Jic Branded balls and equipment were produced, sold and distributed to Schools, Colleges and Universities around the UK.

Jic started with a group of Academic sports enthusiasts. There were cricket and hockey coaches, football and rugby players and technicians including an aerodynamicist who all live and breathe sport. This passion for sport led them to trying to find a solution to a problem they came across time and time again. This problem was to do with sports consumables - and sports ball in particular - were becoming more and more expensive and they wanted to do something to change this.


The Jic team wanted to create something which would help solve a problem in the sporting world - and their passion was the amount of money small clubs and children have to spend on branded balls. Having had experience in the sports industry, the team knew that big brands create huge overheads through sponsorships and advertising and pass those costs down to the small consumers.

At Jic, we choose not to so there is a lot more money available to make our balls & equipments the very best. It also means we can pass on a lot of the cost savings to whoever is buying the ball & equipment.

The Jic team came up with idea of launching a rugby ball brand, a brand with a new modern edge who cared about the quality of the product and not just the profits associated with making such a product. And Jic was born.
