Join us on "a journey in search of the Northern Lights".

In a small group with a max of 7 people, we will hunt the Aurora, using our experience, dedication and enthusiasm. We will explore remote landscapes near or far, and take you to the most picturesque places.
Our tour van is equipped for Arctic conditions with attention to every detail.

Staying warm on an Arctic winters night is essential. Let us take care of you, by serving home made, organic hot food & beverages, whilst sat around the campfire. Creating a storytelling atmosphere.

We understand how important the photos are!
We will take professional photographs, which will be shared the following day, making your experience memorable long after it is gone. We also provide quality tripods, and offer help & advice on how to shoot your own Northern Lights photos.

We went with Northern Soul for three consecutive nights, to get as many chances as we could to see the Northern Lights. Well, it's Mother Nature so there are no guarantees, but we fortunately saw them the second night. We crossed the border to Finland, but saw the Northern Lights in Tromsø, Norway. We liked Northern Soul, as the guides are pretty knowledgeable and provide wonderful service. The groups are also smaller, which we liked. The food was good, and the groups and the conversation were fun. They also took amazing photos. Highly recommend them!
4x4 tour! This was one of the highlights of Tromso! I wanted to see the beautiful fjords and this delivered! Great professional photos provided at no additional cost. Ana was an absolutely fantastic tour guide! Loved hearing her stories and all the insight she shared on culture, food, and other sights to see in the area. Lovely lunch provided which was vegetarian. I’d absolutely book this tour again in the future. Stunning views! Absolutely a must do!
We had the most memorable trip of our lifetime with Matias and his team with whom we'd booked the northern lights Chase as well as the Arctic day trip. They put in genuine efforts to ensure you get a sure chance of seeing the lights. And the food, service provided, van comfort, are all really worth the price. To top it, that they click great pics as well and share it with you within a day or two.
Hannah and Jeff are amazing guides. Me and my wife went on both of tours, the artic road trip and also the northern lights tour. The soup was tasty northern lights and the sandwich to die for when we had the picnic. Not forgetting the delicious cookies. Great insights on both trips, free high resolution photos included. Great people, Would recommend 10/10. Both small group tours in New vehicles.
We had an absolutely wonderful day with Northern Soul on an Arctic roadtrip of Sommaroy. We went exploring the fjords and fishing villages, had fun on a frozen lake, ended up in a whiteout blizzard, explored beautiful blue sea beaches, spotted wildlife, had a tasty lunch at the top of a hill overlooking the fjord, investigated an old village. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we had a great time on our small group tour.
This is the best northern light hunting tour in Tromso!! Outstanding!! Our tour guide Michael absolutely knowledgeable and passionate about it. He took us to many different locations for hunting northern light. Welcoming and friendly to gave us guide for set up camera. We all sat around the campfire chatting and enjoying the local meal. We had really great time. Michael even offer extend the tour to make sure everyone is happy with the experience which is appreciated! I was thinking to buy a cup as my souvenir, unfortunately there has no extra cups available. Overall it is a fantastic experience! Highly recommended! Thank you for the team!
I booked the arctic roadtrip with them today and I wasn’t disapponted. Unfortunately, the road to Sommaroy was closed due to the weather conditions, so they improvised and brought us to an equally scenic place. Nick was a great guide and Anna a great driver. Small group, no rush. Just one tip I could give for the next time: it’s supposed to be a scenic roadtrip, please clean the windows before. ;P
The review is 2-sided: firstly, Northern Soul Adventures, particularly our guide Maria, did a great job during the Northern Light chasing tour. Despite missing out due to weather, she really tried to find and went all the way we went into Finland and Sweden. The small camp fire with instant reindeer or chicken is a nice touch. They provide thicker winter jacket and hot pads for hands / feet if needed. Besides the above: the activity ‘northern light chasing’ is a relatively expensive activity for sitting in the car for many hours. If you see the northern light, great how much is due to ‘chasing’, otherwise it is a long sit without much excitement. We met up 17:30 and were back at 2:00. Most part we were in the car driving. So do you need this as an ‘activity’? Perhaps during bad weather they know better where to search but overall it isn’t too hard to figure out where to go. So opportunity to rent a car could also be worth it.
So glad we booked with Northern Soul Adventures for an arctic tour of Sommarøy island. It was the best tour we took in Tromso. We had a wonderful day, it was so much fun. We saw mountains, fjords, beaches, fishing villages, and wildlife. Our guide Hannah, the owner of Northern Soul Adventures, took us all around the island and told us about the historyand also about what it is like to live there today. In addition to being very knowledgable about the area, Hannah is also an excellent photographer. We have many wonderful pictures that she took as souvenirs to remember our trip. This was a small group tour 8 people that felt very personalized. We enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch that Hannah prepared using local ingredients. Northern Soul Adventures also offers a Northern Light tour that we wish we had booked.
Had the pleasure of booking 2 Northern Light trips in late March led by Jeff and Nikola respectively. Experienced an extremely clear sky on the first tour but low NL activity, unfortunately. The second tour which took us near the borders of Finland was fantastic despite some clouds. Both tours were conducted with great hospitality and it was really enjoyable. The main reason that I booked with Northern Soul Adventures was the smaller group size, and I’m glad that my decision paid off as a smaller group size meant better photo opportunities / lower chance of light pollution from other guests.
