Also known as Oslo domkirke in Norwegian, is a historic church located in the heart of Oslo, Norway. It serves as the main church for the Diocese of Oslo and is an important site for national ceremonies, including royal weddings and funerals. The current structure was completed in 1697, although it has undergone several renovations and restorations over the centuries. The cathedral is designed in Baroque style with a Renaissance influence. It features a large central nave, a richly decorated altar, and intricate stained-glass windows. The ceiling paintings by Hugo Lous Mohr 1936–1950, the organ facade from 1727, and the altarpiece created by Abel Schrøder in 1699 are among the cathedral's most notable features. Oslo Cathedral is generally open to visitors daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. However, hours may vary on weekends or during special events and services. Entrance to the cathedral is free, but donations are appreciated. Special concerts or events may have an entrance fee. The cathedral is centrally located at Stortorvet Square, making it easily accessible by public transportation. The cathedral is accessible to wheelchair users, and there are restroom facilities available. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, especially regarding special events or changes in visiting hours, it's recommended to check the official website or contact the cathedral directly before your visit.
Amazing stained glass windows and wood carvings. Really nice feel to the place. They held a service and the priest invited us to join and did a mix of Norwegian and English.Besøkte stedetPå en ukedagVentetidIngen ventetidForhåndsbestilling anbefalesNei
A very interesting cathedral, one of the most well-known in Oslo. Nice interior design and architecture. If you like going to various cathedrals to take pics, vids and see the outside and inside, then this is one is worthwhile for a visit.Besøkte stedetPå en ukedagVentetidIngen ventetid
A curious building which look more austere on the outside than it is inside. The interiour decoration is a mix of Baroque woodcarvings and modern painting. The church organises organ recitals.Besøkte stedetPå en helgedagVentetidIngen ventetidForhåndsbestilling anbefalesNei
"A church is a church, is a church, is a-" If you travel a bunch and like historical buildings, you'll invariably see a lot of curches in your time. This one is like many others, but the inside is charmingly colourful, and the mural on the ceiling is well-preserved. Worth a look.
If you see it during your walks get inside, even if you are not a person of faith, you can’t but feel calm when you are inside.Besøkte stedetPå en ukedagVentetidIngen ventetidForhåndsbestilling anbefalesNei
Oslo Cathedral stands as a majestic testament to Norway's rich history and architectural splendor. Its towering spires and intricate facade command attention, drawing visitors from near and far to marvel at its grandeur. Stepping inside, one is enveloped in a sense of serenity and reverence, as sunlight filters through stained glass windows, casting vibrant hues across the stone floors. The cathedral's ornate interior, adorned with intricate carvings and awe-inspiring artwork, captivates the imagination and transports visitors to a bygone era. Whether seeking solace in prayer or simply admiring its beauty, Oslo Cathedral is a timeless treasure not to be missed.

The cathedral is located in the heart of Oslo, just a couple minutes leisurely stroll from jernbanetorget, and requires no entry fee. The cathedral might be somewhat underwhelming in international standard, but it is well worth a visit nontheless. The ceiling is unusually, but beautifully decorated, and the windows were also stunning.
Si beautiful cathedral As part of the Oslo visit I would recomend to get inside It’s a way to understand their culture as well
