Went to Omakase as 3 friends, and had a fantastic evening. The sushis are made right in front of you, by a chef with a great sense of humour, and handed to you for the most fresh experience ever. The ingredients are extremely fine, and we had a feeling our money was not going in the reputation, but completely in the skills and the quality of the food.
Their sushi was the best I have ever had. The wine pairing was nicely done. It was such a great experience we had there. We will go back again! It's highly recommended for visitors.Mat: 5/5
This is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is amazing, the service is incredible specially if you combine it with the wine package, which is perfectly matched with the food. The limited amount of people and the entertainment given by the staff makes it a guaranteed experience. I celebrated my 50 birthday here and couldn’t be better. Thanks!! Spesielle kostholdsbehov: If you are allergic to fish or shellfish is a no-go for me, as you will not be able to enjoy the tastes. Gluten allergy can be accommodated I understood, but will also have a significant effect on your experience.
Went to this restaurant for the first time and even though felt a bit uneasy in the beginning, with good introduction and explanation by the sommelier who was serving us was soon feeling very comfortable! There were only 10 of us all sitting along the bar, there was no menu and we were all in the hands of two chefs working and talking to us in front of us. The food was excellent quality as well as wine menu, most of the fish was local, sourced from different locations in Norway, yellowtail from Denmark and wasabi from Iceland! It was such a pleasure to watch chefs prepare the fish, using the torch and awaiting what was coming next in some suspense. But the atmosphere was very relaxing and the music helped! The food was plentiful and you should never disclose how much more is coming not to spoil the surprise! On a more critical note I liked the cocktail a bit less because it was not easy to access the sauce in the glass. But overall what an experience!!!
Recently, Norwegian business colleagues invited us to Sabi Omakase in Stavanger with high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience did not go well, primarily due to unprofessional service and dangerously prepared food. Overpriced ! About €$ 520 for one person dinner and drinks. The main issue as seen in our photo attached and on the restaurant's website is the open flame of the propane burners used to burn the food before serving it. These propane burners are toxic and dangerous to human health, and such food cannot even be served to pets! I have not even tasted those dishes that have been burnt with propane flames. This is very disappointing, especially for a Michelin-starred restaurant. We therefore warn other visitors to think twice before booking a table at this restaurant!
My wife and I went here last week and had what was literally a once in a lifetime experience. There were four of us in total at the Omakase bar. We did the full Omekase and wine pairing. The sommelier was incredible in explaining the wines and how the taste notes pair with the food. Chef was incredible in preparation, story telling about himself and the dishes, and overall service. It was an incredible experience, the fish was extremely fresh and all the dishes remarkable. A new line to beat in future dining experiences. I highly recommend this if you have three hours and are hungry in Stavanger.
Superb dining experience that was intimate and enlightening. With a limit of only 10 seats right at the chef's table or in this case, counter, you get up close and personal with the entire meal service - from detailed explanations of ingredients to witnessing how each individual piece is crafted in front of you and then deftly placed on your plate... The seafood that evening was of the best I've had - the flavors of each course melding into the next seamlessly. Drinks pairing was spot on. The entire experience was really surreal as I felt like I was transplanted into Japan yet people around me spoke in Norwegian/English. Definitely a must do in Stavanger.
Fantastic experience! Excellent produce, the atmosphere was intimate but also comfortably and relaxed - Roger THE Chef! was in a jolly mood I think this is the first time I didn't care about what I was drinking even if it was sooo good and very well matched because I was too busy and fascinated by the food, the chef and the tastings
Fikk en ledig plass fra ventelisten på kort varsel. Forventningene var høye, og vi ble ikke skuffet. Fantastisk å se en matkunstner i aksjon, og kortere vei fra kreasjon til konsum har jeg aldri opplevd. Vi kommer tilbake!
We went to celebrate our honeymoon and were overwhelmed with the delicious sushi and attentive service. The sourcing of fish and preparation techniques were explained in an informative and entertaining way. We had particularly excellent service from the sommelier, Ziggy, who made excellent recommendations regarding drinks pairings. Thank you for having us
