Impressive selection of whisky and wonderfully affable staff giving a friendly welcome and good advice around whisky options. Great ambience. Friendly locals too.
A cosy whisky bar with a large selection of whisky selection and an artistic ceiling. An old style decor with limited sittings and a fire place. The drinks we tasted were exceptional namely old fashioned and moaguerita. The bartender is knowledgeable and friendly. Nice atmosphere all in all. The best I have visited in the city. Don’t miss passing by to check the artistic way they managed to decorate the ceiling with their use battles. Their best bottles are behind closed doors: look but don’t touch, except if you pay their value. A must for whisky lovers.
Great atmosphere and good selection of whiskeys. We didn’t have food but other tables did, and the dishes looked good!Service: 4/5
The bar woman refused to make any cocktails without whiskey which is a shame cause the spirits were in the bar. We ended up leaving as some of our group couldn’t get a drink despite the cocktail being on the menu and made with whiskey instead of the standard vodka. The bar is too focused on a theme instead of customer service. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone even if they liked whiskey as the staff were rude and unhelpful.
Nice place and warm atmosphere. A bit narrowed space and overcrowded at the visit time. The later it goes, the more noisy and loud it becomes . Tried their bacon burger - it definitely can be better. Others took fish'n'chips - had much better taste The beers were good, as well as whiskey - variety of choices and tastes. Not far from the city center and most visiting locations. Easy to find and navigate to. Might be difficult to get in and go for people with limited mobility. The toilet was a bit dirty, but probably can blame other visitors
Go og rolig stemning, her kan man slapped av å kose seg med en god whiskey. Samt steppe in til full fest på dubliner.Service: 4/5
2 of my friends were thrown out of the bar without explanation. The bartender didn't want them there, but he wouldn't tell me or anyone else why. He had just sold them whiskey and they had 2 minutes to drink it. Totally sick behavior. He could have just thrown them out before he sold that expensive whiskey. The bouncer didn't know why, just that the order came from the bartender. Then I ofcourse left as well :-
En utrolig hyggelig bar, hvor min småkresne mann fant spennende whisky til en rimelig pris, og jeg fikk en nydelig drink whisky smash. God atmosfære, hyggelige folk bak baren.
Stumbled literally! across The Whisky Bar quite by accident last week. Very relaxed atmosphere with an excellent selection of fine whiskies. Better bring The Big Wallet as you will want to stay all night Service: 5/5
