The 18 dekar large garden, which was opened in July 1994, is located south-east of the campus, with views of the mountains to the east and south. Location, corresponding to the northern coast of Alaska, brings to mind an extreme Arctic climate. A branch of the Gulf Stream is, however, up the coast of Northern Norway and has a moderating influence. Tromsø has relatively mild winter (January average - 4.4 ° C) and relatively cool summers (July average + 11.8 ° C).
